My completed 20:20 Print Exchange.
Today I have m an aged to complete all of my 25 prints for the 20:20 print exchange. I spent the entire morning doing these and managed to do an overall of 60 in one session. Some prints went wrong and so I put them aside for myself to work into, either stitching or digital art using my iPad.
When it came to choosing the colours, I previously asked some of my peers which one the preferred out of the blue with pink print, or the blue on blue, and the most common response was blue with the pink graffiti.
During my session yesterday I made sure I cut enough paper to see me through mistakes, this is lucky as today during the pink screen print, some of the paint bled and marked the back of my prints, this meant I had to pull them out and use them for myself, which I am happy to do so as I have plans to stitch into them.
I mixed my own colours for the pink and blue, I wanted to create a turquoise, and so I used dark blue, light blue, yellow and a touch of green, I used white to lighten it as I don’t like dark blue on it’s own, unfortunately the blue didn’t seem as bright and turquoise as I wanted, but I think this is because I was comparing it to my photoshop image where all the colours are bright, I had to make sure I added 50% medium into the paint, this prevented it from clogging up the screen or drying out as paint on it’s own is too thick to go through a screen.
As for the pink, I wanted a bubble gum colour, I mixed my own, using white and a raspberry colour, this turned out exactly how I wanted, I wasn’t as happy with the blue and so I felt this brightened it up as the blue was quite greyish in some lights.
All I have left to do now is choose my best 25, sign and date each one, number order them 1-25 and scan an individual print for 20:20 Exchange to post on their Flickr webpage.
