Exactly a year ago, I taught myself how to crochet!

Sorry for the lack of blogs recently. Unwell & run down doesn't go well with crochet! However I picked my hook up and started this fresh spring granny stripe blanket! I'm using Sirdar Super Soft Aran in blue,biscuit,cream & a splash of mustard yellow! I absolutely adore it :-) Although I have only completed half, I'm loving how cosy and warm it's keeping me whilst I finish it off!

I found this amazing antique 1980s footstool in my local village. After several pain staking weeks it's now been brought back to life with a new crocheted cover. I used a sized 4 hook with red Aran wool. I really wanted it to look simple but with a modern textured twist, so I choose the 'basket weave' stitch! It's bold and beautiful! To finish it off I used brass coloured tacks to hold the cover into place. Hope you like it...

I have been a busy bee over the last few weeks. Literally haven’t been able to put my hook down!! I have just finished a beautiful blue and white cushion. I love the simplicity I have managed to create. I used a size 4 hook and DK wool. It took 6 solid granny squares for each side. The front I crocheted the squares together creating a textured ridge, which Im thrilled with. To finish the fastening off I used 3 small buttons. By now you can probably tell how chuffed I am with this cushion! I can imagine relaxing in my beach hut resting my head on it.. If only I had a beach hut!!!!!!!!! We can all dream :-)

I have always loved a fancy cushion, either on my bed or on the sofa! I think they can freshen up a boring room and also you can snuggle and find comfort in a cushion! So I decided this week to crochet my first ! I used a Size 6 Hook & 4 different colours of Aran Wool

I decided to do the front and back different so you can simply flip the cushion over and have a new look! Each side has 6 granny squares! I hope you love it as much as I do!!

My First Project

After watching several YouTube crochet tutorials, I decided to rush out and buy a hook & Aran wool! I must have watched the same video a hundred times every night for two months! It started as a very small 6 Chain Circle and grew to fit my double bed! Learning the basics such as how to hold a crochet hook blew my mind,as I am left handed. Who knew you could use both hands to do anything! I now look at my throw with great pride.

Chuffed to pieces…. Onto the next project !
