The craziest thing about Obey Me is not the weird magic stuff, it's not the fact that MC's harem is made up of biblical figures, it's not even the nonsensical timeline stuff! The craziest thing about Obey Me is the fact that, at least in the first 2 games, canon MC should theoretically be in their late teens-early twenties and is considered an important political figure in the Devildom. That's a whole college student, someone who most likely can't even legally drink in some countries, and they're making important decisions for an entire realm of ancient beings!
Imagine with me for a minute: You're 20 years old. Other people your age are probably in college and, considering it's quite late into the evening, most likely at some frat party getting wasted. You on the other hand? You're in your room having a correspondence battle with some demon noble old enough to have seen the human caveman era, because he's trying to put out some new law that you, the people around you, and the general population all agree would benefit almost nobody. And you unfortunately cannot do as a normal 20 year old would do and tell him to kill himself because that would most likely cause a political scandal and you are also busy dealing with preparations for the prince regents, your boyfriends, birthday celebrations that are coming right around the corner. And you have to be making all of these big decisions instead of going to college and partying with people your own age all because you were chosen for an exchange program you didn't even sign up for.
