Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
Nick smiled softly as he kissed the top of Piper’s head. “Well, some people are able to change. Just not quickly. Fake people aren’t fun.” Nick relaxed against the cold metal of the truck and placed his chin onto the top of Piper’s head. He wasn’t sure if they were dating or whatever. But, he was happy that he was with her and Nick felt good with Piper. “You may be comfy, but I really can’t wait until summertime,” Nick said with a smile. “I want to go diving at the lake and swim in waterfalls and I can’t wait to go back to work. I absolutely love my summer job.” Nick shut up quickly, in case Piper thought that he was being boring or whatever. “I’ll have to make you oreo cookie dirt pots sometime soon,” he said with a soft smirk. “What’s your other favorite food? Do you have one?”
Piper nodded, "Fake people are the worst. Just be yourself. Someone's bound to like you if you just...try." She shrugged her shoulders. People who were anything but themselves made her sick. Or those who pretended to change but were the same person. Piper was more than comfortable then, curled up against Nick. It was a nice night, and even if they weren't dating it was still a good time. "Please, I'm so sick of this snow. I spotted this icicle on the side of this building that I'm sure when it melts is going to impale someone." She chuckled a bit, "I want flowers and grass more than I do warmer weather. The snow gets very bleak after a while." She smiled. Piper was a spring person. She loved spotting the blooming flowers and the birds everywhere. "Summer will be nice. Though, we've got a few months before summer. A whole season too." She laughed, then smiled, "Okay, it's gonna sound weird. When I was out of school a lot last year I watched a lot of movies and I got like...super into Lady and the Tramp. Ever since then spaghetti and meatballs has been my favorite food."
Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
Nick grinned softly as he wrapped a strong arm around her and opened his jacket so that she could cuddle up against him. He wrapped it tighter around her and put the blanket around them. “Exactly. Your personality really does make you who you are,” Nick said. “You can change your appearance, but not usually your personality. At least not that easily.” He laughed softly. “I recently saw a cake recipe for a chocolate fudge cake with bacon and bourbon cream cheese frosting. I really want to make it as soon as I can.” He laughed as Piper gave him the look. “Hush. It’s pretty much just the jello powder mixed with Cool Whip,” he smirked. “It’s pretty much something that we made up because we didn’t have any other ideas for dinner. It’s more along the lines of Unchaperoned-Four-Year-Old-at-a-Birthday-Party.” It was quiet for a little bit and Nick had both of his arms around Piper’s body. “Is that better? I can take you home, if you want?” he suggested. He didn’t want to take her home, but didn’t want her to be uncomfortable either.
Piper nodded, "Exactly. Like people can change, it's just really hard and doesn't happen overnight like everyone claims it does." She rolled her eyes at that. More than most things, Piper hated fake people. People who tried to be something that they were definitely not. "That sounds...weird, but...intriguing too." She made a face, trying to picture how that concoction might end up looking. And tasting. "Ha, but that's creative. Though, I feel like unsupervised children would go more for the crumbling oreo cookies and sticking that and gummy worms into pudding to make dirt. And I may be speaking from experience but I may not be." She laughed. That was probably her weakness--food wise at least. That, and cookie monster ice cream. She nuzzled her head against his shoulder and shook her head when he asked her the question. "Nope, I'm comfy."
Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
Nick laughed. “That is usually the case with twins. Even if they are completely identical, their personalities are usually going to be different,” Nick smiled. He pushed aside his bowl of food and took one of the cake shooters that he had made for dessert. “I hope that cake and frosting are more agreeable to you than jello,” he smiled and laughed. “I could make you jello mousse. It has the flavor of it, but doesn’t jiggle as much. Although to someone who doesn’t love it, that probably sounds like the most gross thing in the world,” Nick laughed. “I promise to not make too much noise. You don’t bother an artist at work. I just want to watch you doing your thing,” Nick said, as creepily as that sounded. Nick watched her as he nodded and he smiled softly. He grabbed another blanket and unzipped his jacket so that Piper could cuddle up inside of it. He pulled her close and wrapped the blanket tighter. “You okay?” Nick wanted to know.
Piper nodded. "Yeah. I can imagine what that must be like in the case of twins." She had the second hand experience thanks to her brothers, but she'd never been called by another name, like they had been countless times. "Though, in general personalities define a person. Like, once you know a person one way you kinda know them like that all the time. Despite anything else that happens, I think. Unless it's like a drastic thing that happens." She shrugged her shoulders and gave a soft smile. "Cake and I are best friends. Cake and I always get along." She giggled. Then looked at him with a quizzical face, "I'm sorry jello mousse that sounds like an oxymoron." She shook her head, "I don't think that's a thing. Sorry." Nodding Piper smiled, "Good. I don't enjoy being disturbed. I could ruin a photo or something. And none of us want that." She shook her head, chuckling. Piper curled up against Nick and put her head on his shoulder, pulling the new blanket up to her. "There's a really cold breeze."
Only if you don’t judge my onesie.
Deal.
Want me to come over?
Only on the condition you do not judge me and my sick self curled up in footie pajamas.
Ohhhh, the drama. Just kidding. You okay?
I'm fine...ish. Fine-ish.
Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
Nick laughed. “Yup! It definitely becomes easier once we get older! People change, but personalities are also changing,” Nick said with a small smile. “Noah is insane, but in an awesome way. I’m quieter than he is, so people can obviously tell which ones is which,” Nick said with a smile. He continued to eat his food as he heard Piper talk about her photography. “Okay, okay!” he laughed quietly as he ran his fingers through his hair. “How about if I just stay there and watch you doing that and act pretty?” he asked Piper with a smirk. “I promise to not touch anything. I just like watching people doing what they love,” he said with a shrug and he laughed. “Oh, jello was honestly a food group when we were growing up. My dad would stay with us a lot of the time, so it was about the only thing that he could cook,” he laughed. “You’ve never had jello made by me, then,” Nick winked. He bit down on his bottom lip as he ran his fingers through his light brown hair. He looked over at Piper. He caught the shiver and gently raised an arm. “You want to c’mere?” he wanted to know, smiling softly.
Piper nodded, "Personalities really define people. So, that must help a lot with the whole twin thing." She shrugged. Personalities did help identify people, it was how she told people apart with phone calls. Phone calls were the worst, in her opinion. Piper smiled, giggling. Though, she took a minute to respond, pretending to ponder the question. "Hm.. I accept that idea. Only if you don't swivel in the chair we have. It squeaks and it drives me insane." She shook her head, "I think even if a top chef made me jello I'd still dislike it, but all the power to you if you want to try." She curled her legs up and looked around for a moment, sort of getting lost in the place. It took her a minute to turn back to Nick when he asked her if she wanted to scooch over. She nodded and slid over, curling up next to him.
Being sick is probably the worst thing, ever.
you know, i can give you a list of people who have underestimated me. not one of them has done it a second time.
Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
Nick laughed as he picked at some of the paint which was peeling off of his truck. “It’s definitely weird having an identical twin. It was weirder when I was younger because I think we looked less identical as we got older. People say that they can tell us apart now. When we were younger, my mom had to tell the teacher who was wearing which color shirt.” Nick smiled as he watched her talking about photography. Her eyes just hone with delight. “That’s awesome. I mean, I’ve heard of dark room developing and things like that, but have never actually done it. You should take me with you next time that you go,” he told the girl with a smile. “That’s funny that you use your phone. Many people who photograph are super against the idea. I guess it’s probably because most people slap a filter on the picture and announce they are a photographer. I do the same thing, but would never call myself a photographer,” Nick smiled and laughed at Piper’s discuss. “My dad fed me a lot of jello when I was little. It’s an acquired taste.” He wiggled further under the blanket a bit. “Yep, I’m definitely excited. And no need to say you will miss me. I know already,” he teased.
"I've got four brothers, two of which are twins. I've had my fair share of moments calling one one name when they were the other twin. Though, with age it's gotten better." Piper shrugged. She wasn't as close to all ofher brothers, she was probably closest to Anthony of anyone in her family, truth be told. "I can't imagine having a twin. I feel like we'd always have to wear something totally different so people would tell us apart." She laughed, a little smile. It was hard, when her brothers wore things that were similar. But, she'd gotten much better at telling them apart. "Yeah, and risk you ruining my photographs. We'll see." She giggled. "I hardly trust the photography guy to be in there with me and he's a professional. Nick." Piper shook her head, trying to clarify, "I mean, if I have nothing else I use my phone and then try and get back at some point to take a real picture with my camera." She shrugged her shoulders with a smile. "See, I think it's the opposite with me. I associate jello with being sick and I was sick and in bed a lot in the past year so jello and I are not best friends." She took another forkful of her food and then squirmed when there was a breeze, trying to get under the covers quickly. "Yeah, I'll miss you terribly. You took the words right out of my mouth, Nick." She gigled, smiling at him.
Thanks. You too.
Thanks.
Valentine's Day || Nick and Piper
"Oh, my god. It’s like in that Boy Next Door movie with my pictures up all over the school," Nick chuckled. "But alright, alright. I’d like to see them, I suppose. Do you do digital photography too or just film?" he wanted to know, a smile firmly plastered onto his face. "Cool! Thank you. Popcorn is one of my favorite foods in the whole world. And jello. I swear that I have a diet of a two-year-old." He smiled and took a piece of popcorn out of the ball and placed it onto his mouth, smiling. "Mm. This is like a sweeter version of Kettle Corn. I love it. Thank you," he laughed quietly. "And yes. Lobster and mac and cheese are two of the best foods in the whole world, so why should they not be married in a complete dish?" he demanded with a laugh. "Oh, seriously? Go you," Nick laughed as he squeezed Piper’s hand. "Mine was alright. More of the same thing than anything else. I spoke with reps from OSU and my scholarship is all good to go."
Piper rolled her eyes. "I wouldn't seriously do that though. So, you don't have to worry about thousands of your face all over the school. You've got a twin, I think that should be enough." She giggled, toying with the string on her camera bag. "I like to do film a lot more. It just, turns out different than digital I think. But, I do sometimes do digital. Like if I'm somewhere and don't have my camera maybe I use my phone or my Dad's camera." She shrugged her shoulders. The act of developing film, which had been so tedious at one point was now second nature--relaxing--to her. "Ech. I'm so not a jello person. It jiggles too much. Pudding, however, pudding is amazing." Piper nodded. She'd honestly never liked jello, especially the ones with the fruity bits in it. Blech. "Glad you like it." She smiled. "See, I feel that way about chocolate and gummys but I would never combine them because thats two totally different textures." Piper shrugged. Also, the chocolate and gummy combination was not as good as she had hoped when she tried it. "It was great. I think my Dads almost threw a party." She laughed. "Oh, that's good! So you're, like, definitly going there? Have you thought about classes yet?"
I hate seeing Charlie so sick.
[Jumps when Piper speaks as he was half asleep in the arm chair right next to the bed where the little girl laid in a small bed with caging on the sides to keep her safe.] Hey.
[Gives her brother a smile, walking over and handing him his coffee and pressing a kiss to his forehead.] How are you, seriously? [Piper asked, taking a sip of her own coffee and walking to look over at Charlie.]
I hate seeing Charlie so sick.
Okay.
[Piper gets the keys to her Dad's car, telling him she'll be back later, and drives to pick up coffees for herself and Anthony and then drives to the hospital.] Knock knock.
I hate seeing Charlie so sick.
No. I have to stay with her. But yeah, coffee sounds good.
Okay, I'll be there soon.
