micah finds the contact soothing, finding himself leaning into her touch. ‘’hm, that’s a pretty unstoppable duo.’’ looking down, he closes his eyes and inhales slowly. ‘’ i know, ‘m glad.. you’re always gon’ be here.’’ he whispers. ‘’ just.. thank you. i can’t say it enough. thank you.’’

“you don’t need to thank me for it, dummy.” she gave him a gentle nudge, her lips parting in a warm smile. if there was one person she didn’t mind being soft around, it was micah. “now come on. there must be something interesting in this hotel. or maybe even some food, if we’re lucky.”

          the rooms all felt smaller, the halls much longer, the darkness looming at every corner caused her heart to skip one too many beats to ever be considered normal. hayden was quite frankly choking up and the first thing she did was push her body past the closest door in hopes of catching some form of a break. noticeably, the brunette flinched when she caught sight of the terrified girl sitting on her lonesome, a thin hand flying up to touch her chest in silent relief. “ —dritt, ” she breathed out nervously, looking at them with a carefully neutral expression. “ you scared me.. w-what.. well, what are you doing here, by yourself? ” 

“what does it look like i’m doing? i’m hiding.” the words had some bite to them, as if she couldn’t believe that was even a question. but she softened at the state of the brunette that had just stepped inside, drawing her knees up to her chest. “i’m sorry. i’m just -- i’m not a fan of being locked in dark places with no way out.”

‘’ UNLESS you do as i say, i promise– you may just live. ‘’ it was a lie.. sort of. this girl seemed smart enough to literally do anything, they wanted. the masked figure motions her to get up against the wall, gun still aimed at her. ‘’ you’re a pretty little thing, aren’t ya pippa ?? you won’t die.. for now.’’ 

you’re a pretty little thing. those were all too familiar words that made her stomach crawl. but the gun was far more convincing than any anger she was feeling. so she did as she was told, taking a few steps and placing her back against the wall. “why are you doing this? i haven’t done anything to you or anyone--”

‘’ i mean if i scared you, it proves that you do feel something.’’ he retorts in a sarcastic manner, shrugging casually like it’s no big deal. ‘’ you alright ?? ‘’ 

“i’m a heartless bitch jokes. classic.” pippa rolled her eyes, already not a fan of this conversation. not that she hated sarcasm. “fine. as fine as i can be being locked up in a hotel with no power. you can sit on the floor.”

“but if i knocked, wouldn’t that have brought more attention to us? i mean, what if some person ended up hearing it and tried coming after us?” she gave a shrug before closing the door behind her and approaching the other to plop down, trying to sit comfortably. she crossed her legs, moving one underneath the other, as she leaned her head against pippa’s shoulder. “how long do you think we’ll be here?”

“-- okay, that’s probably true. but still. it would have been nice to have some kind of warning.” she slipped an arm around the dark haired girl, giving her a gentle squeeze. even just having someone to sit with like this made her feel a lot more safe. “hopefully not long. from what i know from the movies, these kinds of nights last a day or two at most. we should be out soon.”

no matter how hard he fights it to look away from her, he.. can’t. micah’s silent as he looks down at her silently, nodding slowly in response to her. ‘’ – thank you.. for y’know, bein’ here.’’ he whispers.  ‘’ i’ll always appreciate it.’’

“you know i’m gonna be here.” she drags a fingernail over his chin before dropping her hand, nestling her head into the grove of his neck. “as long as i’m here, and as long as you’re here, nothing is going to stop us. we’re too good together.”

rounding the corner, the masked figure aims the gun at them. ‘’– don’t move, and who knows you may actually survive. test my patience, and you’ll end up dead. got it ?? ‘’ nodding once, an evil grin comes across their features. ‘’ now let’s play a game..’’ 

oh god, oh god. pippa was frozen to her spot, staring at the gun. she’d never actually seen a real gun before. it looked almost fake. were they supposed to be so clunky? “-- okay. okay, just.. please don’t hurt me. please.” she didn’t know what she was begging for. wasn’t like she had much of a life.

his arm wraps around her shoulder, not looking at her right away as he casually searches around. ‘’ i mean, i could use a few massive distractions with.. what’s happened.’’ his tone is emotionless, still avoiding her gaze.  though he lets out a chuckle, shrugging. ‘’ i’ll find a way.’’

“none of us have had a easy time. so.. i get it.” her fingers found micah’s chin, turning him so he’d look at her. she wouldn’t let him avoid looking at her. “but i’m here. i was your friend before all the shit and the sex. i’ll be your friend after too. whatever happens.”

letting out a sigh, she wanted to just sit around and wait for all of this to be over, but knew doing that wasn’t going to do her any good. upon entering a room, she jumped slightly at the way the other reacted before slowly shaking her head. “sorry about that. would it have been better if i knocked?”

“-- much better.” she tried to keep her tone from being too biting. she needed at least one friend around right now. so she shifted to the side ever so slightly, making room for the other girl. “but i feel far less likely to end up a horror movie victim if you’re around.”

‘’ i mean if there’s even a bathroom ‘round here. could always just.. i dunno find the nearest cleanest area, an’ such.’’ micah laughs, smoothing out his jacket as he stares down at her. ‘’ just need to use a flashlight, and.. we can explore.’’ he murmurs, turning the flash light on hiss phone– looking around.

“you’re really looking for it, aren’t you? is that gonna distract you from all this?” she smirked up at him as she slipped her arm around his waist. half to come onto him, half to make herself feel a bit safer. “okay. lets explore. but if i die, i’m haunting you and you’ll never get laid again.”

he becomes still, the moment he hears the words being whispered in his ear and micah can’t help but shudder. though he returns his gaze to hers, with a hint of amusement. ‘’ holdin’ you too that. you should explore some more, though.. have a lil fun.’’ now he’s returning a kiss to her cheek, nodding. 

she loved the effect she could have on micah. it always made her feel confident when she needed it. she gave him a glowing smile as she returned to her feet, smoothing out her skirt as she did. “fine. lets go explore. maybe you can even convince me to take a look at one of those bathrooms you’re so eager to find.”

“exactly. which is why you don’t just go barreling doors down. that’s the simplest way to get yourself killed.” she snapped, not eager to be told she was wrong by someone trying to justify their own bad moves. “everyone’s scared. don’t bother with the bravado.”

‘’ pft, i can understand that…’’ trailing off, he gently hits her shoulder in an attempt to be playful– to try and lighten the mood. ‘’ want to find a bathroom ??  i’m kidding, i’m kidding. ‘s okay, i’m not worried about.. our activites..’’

“-- you are something else, ryder.” it wasn’t an insult, though. micah was the first person since aiden that could actually get pippa to feel relatively safe. so she stood on her tiptoes and pressed a kiss to his cheek before her lips shifted to his ear. “when we get out of here. okay?”

‘’ girl !! jesus fuck !! ‘’ he jumps back, holding his chest. ‘’ i didn’t think anyone was in here, oh my god– i’m .. i.. i’m sorry..’’ trailing off, he shakes his head and puts his hands up. ‘’ i mean no harm, just wanted to see if whoever was in here was alright..’’

“you knock before you just come charging in like a bulldozer!” her voice tumbled out as she tried to calm herself. she had come here for peace and quiet, not to be scared so badly she almost wet herself. “-- i’m fine. thank you. are you? you seem more scared than i am.”

‘’ i mean, if it’s steppin’ up i’ll nee– ‘’ he’s stopped once she took a hold of his collar, head tilting slowly. ‘’ then give me some time to work on it, and i’ll eventually win you over.’’ micah murmurs, shrugging. 

“as much as i enjoy our activities..” she trailed off, a lump filling her throat as she considered letting herself appear vulnerable. she couldn’t tell him she was scared. pippa didn’t get scared and she certainly didn’t show it. “i don’t want to do it on a grungy bed in a murder hotel.”

trapped. she was trapped again. she had promised herself she would never end up in this sort of situation again in her life, but some faceless figure took that away from her. some asshole behind a phone. so she had found a room to sit herself down in to try and hold in her panic. but the door opened and she had to stifle a scream. “-- you scared me half to death!”

‘’ A HOUSE can be that.. nice, if you put the work and effor into it, i s’pose. ‘’ micah shrugs, that smile turning into a smirk as his dark orbs don’t leave hers. ‘’ is it working ?? ‘’ HE asks almost innocently, kneeling down so he was infront of her. 

“are you saying that you need work? cuz we can agree on that.” she teased as she followed him as he knelt in front of her, and okay, maybe it was hard to say no to those big dark eyes. but she reached forward and took hold of his collar, tilting her head at him. “if you have to ask, it isn’t.”
