I don't know I just don't get how you are even supposed to have a community when the result is that any grievance between people can be a mass ban wave. What the fuck do you do. You have to stand together no matter what and then people point to that and call you crazy.
The thing with guilt by association is that its deliberate, it exists to destroy any kind of unity. If someone decides to get a bee in their bonnet about my erotic hypnosis kink and I get banned because of it, the tumblr moderation staff are likely to go after every single trans woman that regularly interacts with me, and people will cheer for it.

This is the kind of shit that the FBI did with communists during the Red Scare. If you were friends with a communist, even if you had no idea, it would be cause to investigate you or ruin your life forever. This was done to isolate communists from normal people and make it easier to round them up.

Don't forget staff has also already targeted and banned Black users which is why the site is as white as it is now. Staff wants to ENSURE that this website is for white tme westerners. A huuuuge portion of Black and indigenous Americans got chased off back in 2016 and Black women especially get marked as "mature content" for images of them just standing around fully clothed
