People are using big words like "misogyny" to tell you can't hold women accountable and usually thats all there is. If you want to defend someone give examples as why they are better than, same with calling them out. Those are just empty words to feel better. If your friends are racist, so are you. If you see change and remorse, different story, but I have yet to see it. I have yet to see any care for another human being. I'm okay with calling out my faves when it's due. When one of them is bestie with someone who made sexists jokes but she is all about girl power, that makes her a whole ass hypocrite and said people deserve to be called out. I'm tired of the constant babying of celebrities because "they're just humans." We all make mistakes, but being friends with problematic people is not on my list and never will be.
Celebrities will be always held to bigger standards because they have platform, they have people following them, often young people so they should lead by example. I don't think they deserve hate every time they fuck up, or being cancelled tho. Some things are not "mistakes". And its always a personal choice whether you want to be a fan of those celebs and their art. I said it before it's always will be pick and choose but at least own it don't act as if nothing ever happened.
Additionally, there's a huge difference with calling them out and hating it. You should be capable to call someone out without the need to go after their appearance.
