career rewards: buyable & as aspiration rewards

i decided to try my hand at editing sophiedavid's "buyable aspiration & career rewards" to also have the same edits from joninmobile's "career rewards as aspiration rewards", essentially combining the features. it went well, so i'm sharing it with you all here.

excuse the shitty uninspired preview taken on my testing lot.

this is something i made for myself awhile ago. i've used sophiedavid's buyable rewards for a long time, usually to add them to community lots.

but in actual gameplay, i find that i rarely end up getting most of them naturally. plus, some of them i don't like the idea of being locked behind entering a niche (paranormal...) career. joninmobile's version solved that issue, but the two are incompatible with each other. ...unless? :3 in the end, career rewards will be obtainable in 3 ways: the original way, in build buy, and as aspiration rewards.

i made sure to give each reward the same points price that joninmobile decided on (if you want to see the prices for each reward, they're listed here. i recommend reading sophie's post too.) the price in build/buy might appear to be more than zero, but trust me, when you actually buy them it will not cost you anything.

INSTALLATION:

DO NOT INSTALL IN DOWNLOADS FOLDER!

instead, place the file in the catalog bin of your latest pack, in the games' installation folder:

for Ultimate Collection: Wherever you installed the game\Fun with Pets\SP9\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins for Legacy Collection: Wherever you installed the game\EP9\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins for Disc: Wherever you installed the game\The Sims 2 Mansion and Garden Stuff\TSData\Res\Catalog\Bins

make sure to remove sophiedavid's "SDsims2_CareerRewards" if you have it, as well as any of joninmobile's too. you can keep sophiedavid's "SDsims2_AspirationRewards" though!

note: no idea if this works if you don't have all the expansion packs/UC/Legacy, sorry. you can try, and let me know if it doesn't.

"listen to story/kids read to toddlers/read book autonomously" made compatible with "study all skills from books"

this is actually included in the stuff i shared on GoS for the june event, but i made a separate post for it here on tumblr because it's quite different from the other two. and also the first mod edit i've ever shared!

this is an edit to @earlypleasantview's listen to story/kids read to toddlers/read book autonomously to make it compatible with @midgethetree's study all skills from books (autonomous-scienceenthusiasmfromcleaning version).

remove earlypleasantview's mod and replace it with my edited version, then make sure it loads AFTER midge's mod. also be sure to remove mrclopes' read books autonomously if you have that, since epv already included it in her mod.

hehe. i haven't posted anything on here in YEARS cause i stopped playing ts4 and switched to ts2 and didn't feel like sharing gameplay anymore sdkldkflf. but i still used this account for lurking in the community and whatnot.

i've created a lot of cc (mostly edits of others) for my own use over the years but i've never posted them publicly before. 😓 the main thing holding me back from sharing it all is the daunting task of making allll those preview pics... but i figured i can start small by participating in the GoS event this month.

the theme was "get schooled" so here's a cheerleader default for men and some backpack recolours. (and a mod edit, but i'll share that in a different post)

two base-game doors centered on 3-tiles!

pretty much all the build cc i own are just plasticbox’s 2-tile and 3-tile versions of EA doors. when i saw this nicely explained tutorial by @chippedcupanddustybooks, i decided to make even MORE centered doors to add to my collection. here are two of my favourite base-game doors centered on 3-tiles!

hi!

guess i’ll come out of hibernation? i’ve been busy with uni for the past year, but i have to admit that my interest in ts4 waned (even cats & dogs couldn’t rekindle it). i had time to play plenty of other games (my friend got me into heroes of the storm; it’s pretty fun tbh) but the only sims game i played was ts2, without taking screenshots.

after seasons came out i found myself wandering back onto my lil old simblr and checking in on my fave blogs. it made me want to play the game myself for once! soooo i reinstalled and here i am, thinking about posting a couple of gameplay pics??? weird, i know. i’m using less cc now but my love for bright colours is still in full gear haha. i also might ditch my simblr alias “dottie”, and just go by my actual name: dayna.

anyway, this post is a bit longer than i wanted it to be, so i’ll end it here! just wanted to say hi again and that i hope you’re all happy and successful this year! thanks for sticking around with my lazy ass. here’s to a lovely summer!!
