I was checking my account today and… Somehow $200 has been withdrawn from my bank account, and not only can I not contact them until tomorrow, but I have a bill due in two days that the money was supposed to go to, and I’m… Really freaking out to say the least. I’ll hopefully be able to dispute it after work, but it won’t come back for probably a week…
Please consider signal boosting and donating. I’ve been out of work for 2 weeks due to surgery, and I won’t be seeing paychecks again until Thursday. I could really use your help to alleviate the situation.
Looking to return to being a bit more active this year, had some issues (that could’ve been handled better) that caused me to dwindle in online output.
I'm mostly to blame though! Long story short I felt bad about not getting stuff done for different people for a long time.
Some of them maybe forgot, or don't expect it anymore since its been so long. The issue was me feeling guilty about posting art and whatnot that wasn't the stuff I was supposed to be making for them...and from there it snowballed into me not posting much at all as time went on.
Its a minor thing to get hung up over for sooooo long, buuut resolutions yadda yadda got tired of it and finally decided to settle things. Will still take a bit to settle said things but hope I can get some stuff up soon.
I need to start this post off a bit personal.
I’m incredibly sorry.
I meant to advertise this sooner by weeks, but life has been a bit hectic. My physical health is good, no worries there, but a number of drama things and personal work have kind of distracted my attention. I didn’t even know if I was going to try to go for a fifth annual Demon Girl Appreciation Day.
But a number of you have contacted me about it, told me your plans to do things, and it’s kind of giving me a lot of strength back to do so. So yes. This is the call to arms for the DGAD V!
There is one catch, however.
As you noticed in the sign, there’s an extension date for celebration to include the weekend.
Previous events were fortunate enough to happen on either weekends or other free times, but considering the 4th is a Thursday this year, I don’t want people to feel rushed to do anything if they cannot as Thursday tends to be a business day and all for a lot of folks.
As such, and I hope this is okay, but I wanted to include the weekend. I still consider May 4th the inaugural day and it’ll forever be seen as the birth of the day, but as mentioned, I don’t want to leave anyone in the dust considering it’s dropping on a business day and my lack of promotion for it.
If you could spread the word and help me make up for lost time, I’d sincerely appreciate it. That’s the most I could possibly ask from you all.

What exactly is Demon Girl Appreciation Day?
- Demon Girl Appreciation Day is a day designed to appreciate lovely lady characters that possess demon-like traits, and more! People tend to think of demons in a narrow-minded manner, but I assure you that they can come in quite a variety of shapes and sizes! Not only that, but they can also have a multitude of personalities and origins as well.
How did this idea come about?
- Back in April of 2013, there was a small discussion between Jcdr and tlwelker on Twitter. They proposed having a Demon Girl Appreciation Day. Whether or not it was a serious consideration, I - TheEnglishGent - wanted to try to make that a reality. As such, I rallied you - the people - underneath a common banner. That banner was that there definitely should be a Demon Girl Appreciation Day!
In the following years, 2013, 2014, and 2015 had quite a great turn out! As such, I’m hoping with the help of others to keep up the tradition for a fourth year in a row! We’ve had tremendous people spreading its word and the like, and I hope to continue to make it grow bigger and better than before!
Why have a Demon Girl Appreciation Day?
- As mentioned previously, there is a large variety of demon girls that exist. That’s what makes them truly fascinating. I believe that there can exist a day where we can appreciate not only demon characters created by either us artists or those in mediums such as anime/manga and more, but the general concept of demon girls as well!
What do we do on Demon Girl Appreciation Day?
- Appreciate demon girls! There is no limit in how you can do this. You can draw your favorite demon girl(s) that you enjoy. They can be demon girls from another artist you enjoy, from a medium that you like (such as anime/manga and more), or you can celebrate by drawing out your own demon girl! Can’t draw? Well then feel free to write about them! Can’t do either? Then you can always leave comments around about how you appreciate demon girls from other artists and the like! You really have no limits in what you can do! I want people to explore various ways to show their love for demon ladies everywhere!
Can half-demons be included, too?
- Why of course! Half-demons can be appreciated, too!
Is there anything else you want us to keep in mind?
- Yes - and that is to have fun! After all, this is supposed to be a day for demon lovers to enjoy. Let your imaginations run wild! I believe we can really make this a special day if everyone got involved!

In light of the recent 1-year anniversary I thought I’d share some stuff I never posted. I didn’t have time to make some big celebratory artwork due to my job, but that won’t stop me from celebrating this great game, so instead I’ll share some fanart I’ve done! A good while back I drew up these pics of Toriel and Papyrus, the first two major bosses of the game. And actually, I had intended to continue further than that.
Due to spoilers I’ll throw in a “keep reading” line to at least try to cover up some later game revelations:
So, in the original Papyrus post I hinted that I was gonna post Undyne next, but never did. Her picture was almost done, in fact. And not sure why I didn’t go that extra bit of distance to finish it... but here’s the pic in the last state I left it in 11 months ago:

I like how is box form came out, menacing... for a box.
And had even more done on Asgore. I was still in the middle of debating how to keep that hard shadow over his face somehow but not cover his entire body in similarly harsh shadows... probably would have resulted in two different versions, one where the shadows are strong enough to obscure his face and figure, and one where you can see it clearly. If you look hard enough you might be able to see his expression behind that shadow...

These drafts were in fact around even before the games release (since I was one of the testers). So was on my way to having my own cool fanarts done waaaay before anyone else, I could draw the cool true final boss before anyone else could wooow I’d be so popular on the playground! But the thing that stopped me is...
I didn‘t know when a good time to even post these was.
I knew the game was gonna get a mountain of fanart when it actually comes out, and wanted to get my chips in early with this picture set. But... I didn’t want to be posting major spoilers. Even in the early boss pictures, I was showing off something like Undyne’s friendly side which isn’t immediately seen ingame. Then there’s Metatton EX, and Asgore... I realized this was just a huge set of spoilers. Maybe I’m just a stickler for spoilers if I’m worrying about something like showing Undyne out of her armor?
Sure, I could just wait before posting them but due to my indecisive nature I couldn’t even decide on how much time I should wait before it’d be okay to show them. How many players would still be playing it blind a month after release? 2 Months? 3 months?
Even if I put heavy spoiler precautions around them someone could still check if they didn’t care about the game, only to want to actually play it later. I started working on them less and less, and soon I had even gotten a different drawing program and moved on.
As someone who worked on the game a bit and knew all secrets (psssh yeah right, I didn’t even figure out how to open the Locked Door until post-release and whenever I asked toby about it he would just reply with smile emotes) I decided to withhold my knowledge and let the fans make their own spoilerrific fanart whenever they want (shout-out to @dogbomber‘s tarot card set, which took something simliar to my concept to the next level).
I did eventually lighten up and do some slight spoiler stuff when the Undertale train has picked up momentum with some stuff like the Pumpkin Carving Contest, but I never ended up going back to those boss pictures...

This was a drawing of of Toriel’s tree I was working on around the time of release, with several fallen leaves of notable color... and one leaf that managed to remain with the old tree... I was hoping to use it to promote the games official release, but might have been a bit too early to hint at the nature of those colored leaves~
Still, it was a nice idea I had and even toby said the symbolism was pretty good... but due to other things happening it got buried under other work and I never got back to it, and only just remembered when I saw it in the same folder as the other boss drawings. Maybe I can get back to this in the future?
Anyway, that’s all I have to share. If you read this all then thanks for enjoying my stuff! I’m still honored to have been involved with the game a whole year (and 2 days) later. Thanks Toby, you’re a great guy- er, fox- uh... dog.
