When you finally get some time after a long exhausting month and you have drawing ideas but BAM! There comes the art block. 😫
This scene broke my heart 😥

Okay, I'm a horrible person 😩
: Why are you torturing your soul, dear?
: I'm not torturing, I'm stress testing myself.
The idea that people have to be diagnosed first for mental illness to be taken seriously is so cruel. Imagine a cancer patient hearing, "snap out of it" or "it's all in your head" or "you're acting so dramatic" for showing symptoms before get diagnosed. We don't brush it off for physical illness, then why do the same when it comes to mental illness? Yes, it's true that just having symptoms doesn't mean someone actually has cancer. But at the same time, it also doesn't mean they don't have it. Nothing is certain before diagnosis.
And I'm writing this from a country where people don't go to a doctor until they are dying. Most of the time, the reason is poverty. I lost my father because his illness had been diagnosed very late. He endured for a long time alone and only decided to go to the doctor when he couldn't bear it anymore. And here people think seeing psychiatrist for mental illness is a luxury because... well, you can guess the reason. I heard my friend saying (who is a university graduate with a science background) "depression isn't real", what can you expect from other people?
Actually people don't even take physical health seriously here. I remember having hemoglobin count 7 point something (I can't recall the exact figure but it was 7 point something) and yet the doctor didn't prescribe me any sort of supplements or at least suggest a balanced diet. I used to faint and feel short of breath. I used to turn blue and couldn't breathe during a simple task like bathing. Then my uncle (who is also a doctor) examined me and prescribed iron supplements and only then I felt a little better. Then I visited another doctor while still on iron supplements and my hemoglobin count was still low (around 8). But the doctor didn't even bother to listen to my problems.
Anyway, I think I moved away from the original point too far. Diagnosed or not, kindness and compassion don't cost a penny. Just because your relative was diagnosed with 'X' doesn't mean you can dismiss the person showing similar symptoms because they aren't diagnosed yet.
Sorry for another vent post
I'm not feeling like taking a 5 hours bus journey to attend an exam and start working right from the next day at all. I'm feeling like visiting a doctor and sleep for 24 hours straight. 😣
I love how Devi listens to her dad's voicemail each time she feels rage.
