It's the little details I love. How to fletch your arrows with owl feathers, because owls fly silently, so maybe your arrows will, too. How to carry fire in a piece of smoldering fungus wrapped in birch bark. These are the things which help a world come alive.Â
~Michelle Paver  Â

“Not knowing when the dawn will come I open every door.” ~Emily Dickinson, The Complete Poems
“The fool doth think he is wise, but the wise man knows himself to be a fool.” ~William Shakespeare, As You Like It
“Woodland in full color is awesome as a forest fire, in magnitude at least, but a single tree is like a dancing tongue of flame to warm the heart.”Â
~Hal Borland

Anyway, no drug, not even alcohol, causes the fundamental ills of society. If we're looking for the source of our troubles, we shouldn't test people for drugs, we should test them for stupidity, ignorance, greed and love of power.Â

–Ralph Waldo Emerson
“Precious light is protected, harbored in the souls of unicorns, the most mystical of all creatures. There’s no creature with more power or magic. As long as they roam the earth, evil cannot harm the pure of heart.“

October’s got those orange eyes but somehow I still lost sight When you lifted the lid off of my pumpkin head and kissed me goodnight So bundle up and come with me now Down the road where to the burned down barn We could make a blanket of coats And breathe our souls into the neighbor’s front lawn

Pygmy Marmoset by Bob Worthington
The pygmy marmoset is the smallest monkey but not the smallest primate—that’s the mouse lemur.
there are several perfume-themed books and novels that have debuted this year. The fragrance market has expanded to include not only commercial releases and classics, but niche, naturals and artisinal fragrances. There are perfume events, salons and expos. Perfumers are even venturing into other territories, exploring the use of fragrant materials in food and drink. And this is just the beginning! Hopefully, we can move beyond paper blotters and a  hasty spritz on the wrist to engage our bodies and our imagination in order to best appreciate these olfactory works of art.

{Winter Raven Portrait} by {David W M M}
“…But the raven, sitting lonely on the placid bust, spoke only, That one word, as if his soul in that one word he did outpour. Nothing further then he uttered - not a feather then he fluttered - Till I scarcely more than muttered `Other friends have flown before - On the morrow he will leave me, as my hopes have flown before.’ Then the bird said, `Nevermore.’
~Â Edgar Allan Poe
