I’ve had a tmnt obsession for a while now. I have seen/read literally every single iteration I can get my hands on, which is pretty much everything except for the video games and some of the newer comics. I'm working on that.
IDW and 2003 are currently tied for the spot of favorite iteration, but I love all of them. Y'all should read the 2012 manga btw.

Things that will never not be funny to me: The knowledge that 4Kids Entertainment, the company infamous for its heavily edited, highly censored dubs of anime and other foreign cartoons, is responsible for creating the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles series that, to date, remains the only TV iteration to have ever gotten an entire episode banned during its original run due to its graphic content.
I was rewatching Madoka Magica and I thought, "Which of the turtles from TMNT 2012 will become a witch first, and what would her wish have been?" Then for me the most obvious was Leo, maybe making the wish to protect his siblings/family or something like that, Maybe something like, "I want to be strong enough to protect my family, I want to be the one who saves them." Or something like that, I don't know what wish Donnie or Raph would make, I imagined Mikey trying to make a silly wish but being stopped by his brothers hahaha, I associate Leo a lot with Mami and Sayaka, with Mami because of the leadership under the skirt illusion of control, and with Sayaka because of her righteous idea and heroism falling into despair.
Mikey's grudge against the Krang was COMPLETELY PERSONAL! He never hesitated to beat them up,even in dimension X, Mikey always referred to them with annoyance; I think he even said in one of the comics that he was already tired of them HAHAHA!

Name: Leonardo “Leo” Hamato
Age: 17 (oldest)
Species: Humanoid red-eared slider mutant
Position: Leader & Medic
Worst Fear: Being disowned
Fun Fact: He doesn’t know what an air fryer is and at this point, he’s too afraid to ask.
My version of Leo is a massive dork who takes everything a bit too seriously. He thinks he’s better than you, and let’s be honest- he probably is. He’s not the heaviest hitter on the team, but he’s definitely the most well-rounded fighter. He’s pretty insecure about a lot of things but is very good at hiding it behind his wall of arrogance. He likes sci-fi, minecraft, and being right about everything. He’s a planner and strategist at heart and considers every possible outcome, to a point where he will shut down if something unexpected happens. Gifted kid burnout, baby!

Appeals: Excellent strategist, decent in different types of attacks, high pain tolerance, incredibly responsible

Name: Raphael “Raph” Hamato
Age: 17 (second oldest)
Species: Humanoid red-eared slider mutant
Position: Tank
Worst Fear: Being abandoned
Fun Fact: He’s got a really good singing voice for some reason.
My version of Raph is a well-meaning asshole. He acts all aloof and nonchalant, but he is actually very observant and smart. He’s the heaviest hitter on the team and can absolutely kill you. He’s very emotionally repressed and is horrible at articulating his feelings, but he somehow immediately knows whenever his brothers are hiding something. He likes horror movies, cooking and beating people up. He makes fun of his brothers and often plays devil’s advocate, but he’s really just trying to get them to wake up and disobey Splinter for once.
He may be impatient, but he sees everything.

Appeals: Incredible strength, high pain tolerance, tougher skin, heightened senses of hearing and smell, decent strategist
Drawbacks: prone to fatigue and body aches. Lack of speed and stealth. Poor eyesight. Prone to jumping into situations unprepared.
Name: Donatello “Donnie” Hamato
Age: 16 (second youngest)
Species: Humanoid red-eared slider mutant
Position: Stealth & support
Worst Fear: Serious injury or death
Fun Fact: He can’t whistle.
My version of Don is kind of a loser. He’s the most intelligent of the group in terms of IQ, but he’s lost when it comes to emotion or sometimes even common sense. He’s not the best fighter despite being incredibly stealthy, so he mostly serves as support for his brothers. He makes their weapons and tools, and tends to stake out locations for missions. He likes facts, video games and fixing things. He tends to isolate himself a bit, but he always tries to find time for his family in between projects. Speaking of projects— he’s always working on something, even when he should be resting. He has to have something to do or he goes stir-crazy pretty fast.

Appeals: Very stealthy. Can make weapons out of anything. Devastatingly intelligent.
Drawbacks: OCD, prone to fatigue and manic episodes, low pain tolerance, atrocious posture
Name: Michelangelo “Mikey” Hamato
Age: 15 (nearly 16) (Youngest)
Species: Humanoid red-eared slider mutant
Position: Speed asset & wildcard
Worst Fear: Being forgotten
Fun Fact: His 5 year plan revolves around him becoming a circus acrobat within the next few months.
My version of Mikey is full of energy. He’s the most optimistic Hamato and is a weirdo in every sense of the word. He’s here for a good time, not a long one. As the fastest and most unpredictable member of the team, he’s definitely a force to be reckoned with on the battlefield. He likes comics, bad jokes and lying. He’s underestimated a lot, but he’s good at using that to his advantage. There’s nothing he hates more than being ignored, and uses his power as the baby of the family to farm attention and spend as much time as he can with his brothers. Fortunately for him, they’re usually too bored or tired to resist.
