GEEZER – what? Do you remember the 1990s? Remember Britpop? ‘Course you do, you still have that “Common People” CD single somewhere. Well, behind every Oasis there was a Suede, Behind every Suede a Dodgy, and behind every Dodgy a… Geezer?

If you don’t remember Geezer that’s because they never existed outside this comic book (it’s okay, you can still *claim* to remember them). GEEZER revolves around the band of the same name and the Britpop scene seen through the starry eyes of singer Martin Bland and his entourage of losers.

Geezer is written by William Potter, whose band CUD would sometimes graze the lower reaches of the 90s hit parades, with art by Philip Bond, who has been drawing 90s indie kids since the 80s. Each issue is presented as a seven-inch square comic with tons of extra material like band interviews, reviews, sleeves and lyrics.

Mate! That sounds right up my alley. Where can I get it?!

KICKSTARTER – what's that then? Philip and Shelly Bond’s own Off Register Press published GEEZER#1 last year with the help of the Kickstarter crowdfunding platform and GEEZER#2 has just been launched.

Through a month-long campaign on Kickstarter.com we’ll grow our audience and raise the money to finish, print, and ship this comic to anyone who backs the project. You can support GEEZER#2 (and still get #1) from as little as $5, and higher tiers will get you other merch from stickers to t-shirts to original art.

COMICS – I don’t get it. It’s just like Garfield but longer and smarter and better drawn and much, much more dense. Take it slowly - read and absorb Geezer at your own pace.
