Fanmade Project Sekai Line Dists

Hi y'all! This is another side blog brought to you by @the-overanalyst. Basically, I've been cranking out line distributions since last spring and haven't gotten around to posting most of them, so I thought I'd make a blog just dedicated to that. Each post will be accompanied by notes on certain lines that I liked.

I'm not committing to a consistent schedule, but the backlog is pretty big so posts should be regular for a while at least. Also, if you want to request a line distribution I'll point you toward @daily-prsk-line-dist who is much more efficient than me.

"the me who's stuck in place" - saki in the hospital, mizuki's fear of change

"when i made 'what is right' my ideal" - rui ignoring his own feelings to create shows with mass appeal

"'what do you want to do' / 'nothing at all'" kaito confronting mizuki in mizu5, pushing her towards action

"you won't tell me anything anymore" - ichika not telling her what was going on in middle school

not about my line dist but DAMN mizuki was really feeling that "garakuta da"

with a little bit of this post

the "betrayals" they're each thinking of are her ex-friends for mizuki and her dad for ena

"if that's what's right for you, then by all means stick to it" - ena always encourages people to do what they want, also her resolve to stop pushing mizuki in footprints

"you're suspicious even when you're praised" - see: every time mizuki says something nice about her

"you can't see beneath the surface, so just block your ears" - reminds me of her wl1 card for some reason

"live in your own world" - mizuki sometimes wishing for a world with no one else in it, ena's unique worldview

"isn't it a bit too late to say you only believe in yourself?" - mizuki realizing she wants to stay with niigo in secret distance and to trust ena in footprints

i kind of wish "i believe in you" was said twice so i could've made the first time only ena

"words spun by someone else ... distorted into a collage of fakes" - how shizuku's old image was manufactured

"youthful love" - leoni childhood friendship

hinomoris get the first moon mention bc moon festival event

"silenced by a fallen angel's arrow" - archery club ofc, shizuku herself could be the fallen angel since she's no longer seen as perfect

"i'd rather just throw everything away" - insatiable pale color

"loneliness like the silence of a winter night" - reminds me of the shizumafu archery event

shiho sings in both the "star" lines bc leo/need

"do you want love even if you have to steal it?" - ena resorting to something like the selfie account to get validation

"treated as a demon child" might be more mizuki, but "more punishment than i deserved" couldn't have gone to kanade (mizuki knows her treatment is unfair)

"after the rain" for ena and "the warmth of someone's hand" for mafuyu

"i'm not even dreaming a single dream" - the imagery used in kana6 and koufuku kei

"you were forbidden to converse with me" - by mafumom in immiscible discord

"i have no name and no tongue" - mafuyu not knowing her identity and not being able to speak up for herself

"not even that you're not a child anymore" - kanade's dreams of mafuyu in wl1 and unreliable notes

"you won't stop, why won't you stop" - mafuyu to kanade in main story, mizuki to ena in wounded hands

"if only everyone else would just disappear" - mafuyu creating empty sekai, mizuki in bake no hana and also her colorfes story and also start of the rooftop scene

"with no chance to resist" - literally the way she talks about ena sometimes. i hate them

the last chorus is split kanamafu and mizuena to show the two different stages of healing they're at right now

most of mafuyu's lines are about her mom of course

"a certain word pierces your heart" - what honami's old classmates said about her

"the entangled relationship between us" - anhane slightly toxic yuri my goat

"it will disappear, our world of love" - mainly leoni with their looming divorce threat

"not knowing if this is greed or love" - vbs being the selfish unit but also full of passion

"you gave me a sweet lie that it's okay to be a coward" - escape to survive

"have i been able to escape?" - everything since then

"me who you hate" - shizuku in her old group

whoa so i JUST realized all of these girls struggled with how others perceive them due to them being "too good" in one way or another

kyu-kurarin - the ikanaide crew

"an overgrown, swollen bud entangled with it" - bake no hana and hanamusubi reference

"the neighbor to your right" - like onstage, as singing partners

"my heart races, head fuzzy" - anhane making each other's hearts pound, and how an described her hazy feeling

"when i fall asleep tonight" - kimi no yoru wo kure, also just giving mizuki a quick break from the angst

"i can't find a single reason to get up" - the angst goes to emu instead, her insane lore drop from wl3

"backing away one step at a time" - the Distance

"i have to smile, or things precious to me will break" - saki pretending she's okay with the band's direction to not cause a rift between them

the entire last chorus hits insanely hard, especially how the "i'll take my punishment for having loved" line sounds

"punishment" also a key word in the last chorus of bake no hana

"the dream i saw in the end" - emu and an are more associated with having a dream

"sings an elegy that cuts off his chances of a better future" - shiho choosing leo/need over going pro with standout

"shall we sing with this atrocious history? look! they're in some ridiculous tizzy" - light up the fire

"even if i bet my life, it still feels like i'm going to lose" - phoenix

"you can sleep now, i'll protect you diligently" - when mafuyu was sick in mirage of light

"cowards like us will never change" - kanade's relatively stagnant character

this is such a perfect group i had to make a line dist for them. it's great how the three duos you can split them into are same unit, same school, and same color. the classic purple senpai pink kouhai dynamic

"the safe zone is shrinking" - mafuyu's situation from lost child to sayonara persona

"i've got a recommendation for you! the ultimate escape!!!" - we escape to survive

off topic but that's such an intense event title, right? really highlights the overwhelming hostility of both mafuyu's and mizuki's environments. it reminds me of the lyric they sing in the chorus of lost umbrella, "they could try to kill me and there's nothing i can do about it"

"even a bouquet of flowers dressed up with words" - a bouquet of flowers was a motif used in what sort of ending

"i invite you to an event where everything will be tainted" - mizuki inviting all of niigo to the school festival

"you're tailor-made for this era" - mafuyu with her good girl mask

"if you stare directly at reality, you'll end up going blind" - emu's dreamer motif, mizuki's propensity for avoidance and escapism through fiction

hana ni bourei - ichisaki + mizuena

idk why but it's so so easy for me to imagine yorushika songs in ichisaki's voices

"i wonder if you've already forgotten about it" - ichika when her childhood friends seemed to abandon her

"tell me more words" - ichika trying to connect with honami and shiho, ena with mizuki

"i'm drawing it, reflected in my eyes is the ghost of summer" - the climax of pure sense, the way her eyes are drawn in that card, her memory from childhood (summer)

title line to mizuena because of the cherry blossoms of course

that bit about the cloud in verse 2 - mizuki's belief that good things are fleeting and out of reach, ena giving her something that lasts and that she can hold onto

"tell me about the scent of summer" - saki when she's stuck in the hospital :(

WAIT BAKE NO HANA GHOST FLOWER I JUST REMEMBERED. noo.

"instead of words, give me time" - saki and mizuki both choosing to stay quiet about something to prolong their time with their friends

and then ichika and ena's response - "instead of time, give me your heart" (yeah this is my favorite part)

"how do you feel about this horrible person?" - haruka kanade guilt complexes

"watching others' strides, stepping out without a purpose / how do you feel about this boring person?" - this is soooo pre main story ichika

"because your hand was much warmer than mine" - the first time, it's kanamafu's whole thing with warmth and handholding. the second time, it's ichimiku to reflect this song being about a human and a robot

"shaking much more than mine" - the way haruka used to get paralyzed when she tried to step onstage

"i won't ever want to forget about this planet on which you exist" - referring to their lost loved ones. for emu specifically, the "planet" is pxl and the wonder stage

"you who doesn't sleep" - haruka kanade overworkers

used satohina's cover and it was almost too much to handle. there are drugs in her voice. she has a divine blessing. i'm so mad i can't sound like her

my favorite part is obviously the intro with little miss tsundere getting cornered and teased

it also works the other way around since mizuki is avoidant and ena won't let her be

i gave mizuki all the "resigned to one's fate" type of lines

"i don't know if i'm pure or not" - i've talked a bit about how purity culture would not be kind to ena, but that's neither here nor there

for the bridge i originally had their lines reversed to nod to mizuki's thing with stagnation but... i like the picture it paints this way. more true to the intended meaning let's say

ok ignore that one that's my bias talking haha

sorry, nothing too deep today. most of my thoughts while making this were devoted to fangirling over satohina. and the rest were about how well that chorus is constructed melodically
