i have a draft n. huh i really liked cat genetics huh
i know i havent posted in centuries but, the--dark-forest -> placeofnostarz
Mottlepaw- Apprentice of Clearclan, apprentice of Fleetlake, sibling of Lilytoad, Fennelbreeze, (future) uncle of Haykit and Mossykit

when i was younger i headcanoned that a leader can get their 9 lives from the dark forest (which i had happen with an old oc of mine named Blizzardstar). A leader would have a star marking, that, depending on how pale/dark the cats fur is, would be a darker or lighter shade of their fur color (a white cat woulf have a silver-gray star, dark brown cat a lighter brown star, a mainly white cat with some black a black star, etc). However, the star of a cat given 9 lives from the df would have a more shattered looking star. clan cats never really pieced together that shattered star = evil leader bc some evil cats somehow got blessed by starclan, or didnt publicly break the warrior code when blessed by the dark forest.
Kestreldrop- Warrior of Clearclan, (future) mate of Softsight

ferncloud! a good mama who didn’t deserve the end that she got. click for better quality
new ask game: if i were a warrior cat, what would i look like, what clan would i be in, and what would my name be?
do one or all three of the above!
have fun with it!!!
i might post less bc ill be working on like. 2 warrior cats aus.
however, au 1 is more discord-bound, so i wont really be explaining about it, au 2 is inspired by the WindClan hollyleaf au- where the 3 are each in different Clans, w/ Jay in RiverClan, brought by Mothwing, the fourth in ShadowClan. (@am-i-too-old-for-warriors-yet‘s posts about a RiverClan Jay au gave me the push to actually start this au)
ill most likely be posting about the au on @the–dark-forest, or maybe @forest-of-secrets
Plumsnout- Warrior of Clearclan, Moleeyes, Mudleaf, and Minnowkit

anybody want one of these blogs (im keeping offical-shadowclan)
I am appalled, I am sO APPALLED RN...
I’m so appalled I’m not even gonna stick this long rant under a read-more because this needs to be heard.
I was on the WCRP forums and I just got a HUGE HELPING chunk of evidence on how abusive the HC editors are in regards to their power over the Warriors books and the choices within them, such as the names as I’ve stated before, and… believe it or not, even the frigging deputy choices.
You want a chain? I got a whole chain from one of the more recent threads I participated in. I replied to a person by the name of “Mayflower” on the forums, and in the poll thread people were talking about who they’d want Harestar, the current WC leader, to make deputy if they could pick anyone other than Crowturd-I MEAN -feather.
Low and behold… I found this at the end of their comment:
Mayflower said: “Besides, I’m pretty sure Kate said she and the editors were having a disagreement over who would be WindClan’s deputy, and that she wanted a lesser known she-cat. In the end, we got Crowfeather, and since they strong arm her over other decisions, I’m going to guess that’s why he’s deputy?? I’ll have to look up the source to be sure, because I’m positive I read a comment with her saying that on either the Shattered Sky spoilers thread, or Darkest Night, or Tigerheart’s Shadow.”
My response to their comment was this: “I had a HUUGE feeling the editors were the reason there have been some shoddy deputy choices in canon and if this is true, this just proves they have more power than they even should. Which is all kinds of BULL. What’s with their bias against female leaders?
Then again, these are the same exact editors that, if I can go off-topic for a bit, would literally go and edit out the one female PoV we’d get in DoTC entirely all without the author knowing until it was published (Which I’m pretty dang certain is not something they should even be doing???). So the fact that they hold power on something as important as deputies does not, yet at the same time does surprise me. (Who wants to bet they’re the whole main reason why we don’t got Tawnystar too?)
I would’ve loved Heathertail to be Windclan’s deputy tbh, but if what you said is true, it seems as though we’re not getting another female deputy/leader outside Mistystar (Since I’m starting to doubt Squirrelflight will see the day as leader given the circumstances. I’m gonna guess that’s why Misty is living so long…
I’m gonna check out those threads and see if I can try and help find it. Blogclan right? That’s the only other site I see her frequent there.”
Mayflower replied to my comment, and get ready for the heap of evidence! They had screenshots but they also put it down in text so that it’s easy to read. All of the text you’re seeing in their evidence bits was from Blogclan itself, many of you have heard of blogclan by now right? It’s where Kate herself frequents to communicate to her fans, so everything here is from her own mouth sotospeak. What you’re about to read and learn is an absolute huge shocker if you hadn’t already known this, even if you DID know this, it’s still a shock.:
Mayflower said: “Yes, it’s on BlogClan! I’m still searching for the comment (…this is so tedious, y'all. I’ve covered the whole Darkest Night spoiler thread and almost done with Tigerheart’s Shadow. I hope I wasn’t wrong and it’s actually somewhere on the River of Fire page. My memory’s poor, but there are some stuff that stick out very prominently, and this is one of them. Just wish I remembered the details), but I found a lot of interesting information Kate has given about the editors. I feel bad for her, and I’m not surprised they did that in DOTC. I used to think it was Vicky who was the problem, but apparently not! I wonder how much of a buffer Vicky was for Kate and Cherith against the editors? Here are just a couple comments. I’ll put them under the spoiler tag with captions, since the images are big. Darkest Night Spoiler Page, Page 15 Snowflower: Kate, after The Apprentice’s Quest, why did you push Sparkpelt into the background? I really liked her character, and was hoping to see more of her. Kate: It was a decision by the editorial team. I’m not sure why. I think they wanted to focus on ALderheart, but I really liked Sparkpelt and I hope we’ll see more of her story arc in future books. Raventoast: I hope so too, she’s just so positive and capable. Kate: IKR? Darkest Night Spoiler Page, Page 35 Snowflower: Kate, how did you choose Twigbranch as Twigpaw’s warrior name? Based on that name, were you originally going to give her another name instead? Kate: The editorial team chose it. I’d have chosen Twigshade. What would you choose for her warrior name? Jaysnow: Twigleaf is what I wanted. Mistletoe: I would have chosen Twigflower or Twigleaf. ;v; Stormheart: I also wanted Twigleaf Raventoast: I was wondering if you’d sneak in Twigswitch or Twigchange. Poor girl keeps getting the yips just before her warrior ceremony. Snowflower: I would’ve chosen Twigheart. Kate: LOVE Twigheart Tigerheart’s Shadow Spoiler Page, Page 23 Laynee: Kate, I know the editors are responsible for the allegiances and whatnot, but I remember in Bramblestar’s Storm at one point Gray stripe said he was “proud of his kits Mistystar and Stonefur”, (embarrassing mistake I know) and later it was changed in my eletronic copy. Is it possible for that to happen with the allegiances for eletronic copies of Tigerheart Shadow? There’s a lot of dead cats still mentioned (particularly in RiverClan) and perhaps a mistake with Twigpaw. Kate: I’m araid I can do no more than tell the editorial team of mistakes in the Allegiance lists. I clearly can’t make them listen to me. There’s quite a few more, too. It’s been said before, but she also mentioned that she wanted Sparkpelt’s name to be Sparkfire, and when the allegiances for AVOS first came out, people told her there were typos and names that didn’t make sense (like Ambermoon) in the rules of the WC world. She tried to tell the editor team, but…welp, here we are. At this point, they may as well write the damn books themselves. I mean, it’s not like she’s been the writer for years or anything. Oh, and she dislikes Crowfeather. Got screenshots of that, too lol though I was reminded of that from a screenshot ages ago that I can show y'all. My friend sent it to me, back when The Last Hope spoilers thread was active. Kate says he’s spineless and mean, and she didn’t like him after Feathertail died. I find that hilarious. “
To quote what I said on there, because I’m still feeling this way still…:
“Wooooow just… having read every bit of that now, let’s just say you’re lucky you can’t see me fuming. And as a creator myself I am FUMING. HC editors are trash and dare I say, actually abusive of the power they have. Why hasn’t the Erins looked elsewhere to publish their books by now? Because this is honestly ri-dang-diculous to see this proven to be happening. I feel terrible for them too. The editors might as well write the books themselves or something if they’re gonna change stuff around that much. They shouldn’t have that much power, seriously. The AUTHORS OF THE BOOKS having no power over what happens to their creation should not be a thing that happens ever. The fact that they never seem to listen to her either is just…
That’s just ALL AROUND terrible. Someone PLEASE get new editors for them or something! Or find somewhere for them to sell their books, or they should do like some folks do and publish them themselves (Which honestly I rather they do that option at this point, because they’d probably get to at least KEEP their control on their work). I’m so mad rn learning this, and I feel so bad for Kate and Cherith to deal with this bull”
So guys, in regards to the stupid shit regarding things like the terrible names we’ve been getting for apprentice-made-warriors (A.k.a Spark and Twig, who got their better names (Sparkfire and Twigshade) rejected for shittier ones) and more importantly, the deputy choices in this series, I think it’s clear who the real blame should be, as it’s proven right here that Kate and Cherith have absolutely no power over what happens to their work outside writing it (Which knowing that still disgusts me as is)…
BLAME THE HARPER COLLINS EDITORS! NOT THEM.
If I could, I’d be screaming at Kate and Cherith to drop HC right now and either find somewhere else to sell their books or self-publish them. I get that it might be too late as there’s probably gonna be one last arc for the series (So I’ve heard), but I could care less at this point. The HC editors are trash and are literally abusing their power, controlling them like puppets or some other allegory like that. It’s obvious to everyone that Kate does in fact listens to her fans, but the editors shoot her down and I wouldn’t be surprised if the Erin’s actually lost their drive due to the editors not listening to them at all and thus restricting their creative thinking to no end if it doesn’t suit the editors liking (Which is something that MANY CREATORS ARE AGAINST AS IS, LET THIS BE KNOWN.), because in contrast to Kate who actually at least TRIES to listen to fans, Harper Collins do NOT care about the Warrior fans at all, they only care about the money, and are pushing the authors to make more books for that money. Remember when it was said OoTS’s “The Last Hope” was supposed to be the absolute end of it? Nope, HC wants to milk it so they demand more.
So to end it off, I feel like more should know that while the Erins DO make stupid decisions sometimes when it comes to certain things in this book (I can not blame them for that because I believe them), they aren’t fully to blame in some aspects. It’s the editors that are more of a problem, and more people should realize this full swing.
i honestly had no idea the editors (besides vicky) were doing shit like this? im lowkey pissed that they just disregard the authors and do what they want with the series.
If I remember correctly, wouldnt changing book publishers be really, really difficult? Like, they basically give the publisher their name and book... If they were to get a new publisher, they'd probably need to completely restart Warriors...
