There's people you meet along the way
your path's cross in the street, through mutual friends or in between the sheets
some of them will come and some will go
you will never know which one's to hold on and which one's will get you low.
Some will be good, some will be bad, some will be powerful, some will be sad
some will be there for years on end, some you will just call a friend
some will offer their couch on holidays
others will wish you never even stayed
there's a few tricks and keys, you learn on this path
this path is called life and it's as complicated as math
the people who promise their lives to you,
might just be the ones to make you feel blue
but they may also open doors, or windows or clear the clouds
don't be afraid and especially don't doubt
go with the flow and love endlessly
there will be people who click with me
I have sisters, brothers, aunts and uncles
some by blood but many by those opened doors,
I decided to look behind, peek on in
see what could be new in my life, maybe gain a win
I have a second mom, a dad, a new best friend
not to say my originals are replaced
but I have added to my growing circle
of people who matter and tickle me purple
they get my vibe, listen to my grind, pride my chive
watch me swim and watch me dive
these are the people who don't need to promise their life
because they are here through all the strive
through the thick and thin
no need to meet them at the steeple

I love my life and the way I sing my song
I love all the people I have let in
they will always be more than just a friend.
