TW: Absurd torture methods (not descriptive)
Party balloons can only hold 1 or 2 gallons of water before it pops, humans don't pop when their body is filled to the brim with water. Instead, they perish slowly, agonizingly.
I've tested it right at that human a couple of resets ago, I think. They got intoxicated from water, or what's called a hyponatremia. Died right after a seizure, before it started all over again. Didn't know what I was thinking when I did that, guess I was just bored out of my mind at that point. It's been what? Billions? Quantillions?
Each failure, each restart, I start to know more. Sometimes it's a morbid fact to make myself entertained, sometimes it's existentialism, and sometimes more memories of past resets.
I've known so much that I felt like my head was swelling, like what happened to that human’s brain as I forced them to drink water. I don't think I remember what it felt like before all of this, I doubt I remember it vaguely at all.
Is it a blessing that I can't recall what it felt like having a caring brother? One that wouldn't yell at me for leaving someone behind, or just doing whatever I want in my downtime. I think that if I could remember any of it, in this state, I'd probably freak the hell out and start losing it again.
But honestly, not being lucid sounds like a really good time. Being more grounded on these recent ones has been making me a bit slower than usual, kept missing my shots and everything.
I mean, if it isn't clear already, I'm still sitting my boney ass on this bench near the echo flowers for two hours and I haven't gotten to Undyne yet. I bet that human is still grinding EXP back at the Ruins, didn't see ‘em pass by either.
MOVE. YOU'RE WASTING TIME! STOP BEING LAZY.
Maybe not. Don't feel like it.
It'll keep resetting, what's the point or change in me rushing to get things done earlier? Especially when I'll just die again anyway!
I sigh, “finally, quiet for once”
Look at me go, getting better at shooing those pesky ones away. And not talking to it like a crazy person too.
“should've brought a mirror though” I leaned back to the bench, yeah, that's a good point. Mirrors don't reflect whatever crap I'm seeing, but I guess I forgot again. Whoopsies, typical me. Haha…
Welp, I decided to take my sweet-sweet time of peace very passionately. Since it's pretty rare for me to think things through, not like I want to anyway for earlier resets.
Okay, back on track Sans, back on track. One two, one two, what’re you going to do next, besides getting dibs on Undyne? What should you be thinking now?
Right, resets. I know a lot, but I don't think it's enough to understand the cause and how to stop it.
And now I'm realizing that it's pretty stupid to just fight that human thinking it'll stop this time or next time or previous times, wow, okay, I'm pretty stupid— Actually lets tackle that later on next resets, back on track again now.
I can't really do it on my own either, the inner workings of resets, how it relates to that human's Determination soul and how in the world did I end up in this kind of never-ending looping state.
Clearly, I need someone who knows at least the same things and probably on the same page as me. Preferably a bit smarter too.
Well, where the hell am I gonna find that—
“...” I frown at the river not too far from my position.
“i think there is someone, isn't it?” I mumbled to myself.
In the early resets that I could recall, there's this yellow flower that behaves almost exactly like an echo flower. Except it doesn't echo your words, instead it talks back like any monster would. It kept speaking about previous things or, mocking me for whatever it is I'm trying to do.
And it has a face, I think— Actually yeah, it does have a face, no amount of memory overload can make me forget that ugly fake smiles it gave me as it laughed at my sins.
The more I remember it, the more I'm getting pissed. But, weirdly enough, I haven't been seeing that thing in the previous thousands or so. Is it hiding? Most likely since well, that human is still around and kicking.
Welp, I guess it's time to pluck that flower out of it's hiding spot.
I stood up from the bench with a groan, man, I wish I could've sat for longer but can't let the Undyne EXP stolen from me.
Next reset I'll do it, find that stupid flower and choke out everything it knows. After all, it owes me a lot for hiding this long, right?
As I start making my way over to the wooden bridges, I can't help but chuckle.
“guess i won't be that bored in the next one”
