FONTON RAMBLING 1/2

To preface: I have been and am a huge fountain pen user and fanatic!

I was gonna put my headcanon design for Fonton at the end, but my rambling goes on for a bit. So here!

[I'm currently learning a bit of Spanish, so included some. "Qué tal" is "what's up."] Normally I try to draw the students as accurately as I can, but a fountain pen character? I just have to add some silly stuff. Main thing I wish he had was "nib creep." Come on. Missed potential pun.

When I saw him for the first time, I thought that he was just a dip pen. Mainly because he didn't have a feed [Plastic/ebonite piece below the nib, delivers ink] of any sort. I also saw stuff on other places about Fonton relying on Inky for ink. So I also thought no internal ink reservoir either. His daytime form is literally a dip pen!

But Episode 39 proved me wrong... But I still wonder what delivers the ink to his head? Ink blood vessels? Sounds cool, but it's probably magic.

Also! From what personal little testing I've done, fountain pen nibs are actually not attracted to magnets. Stainless steel and gold aren't magnetic, which is what most fountain pen nibs are made of. TAKE THAT CALENDER, THEY CAN TOO BE FRIENDS.

I'm also really sad he never really got an episode, IIRC. He played some good supporting roles, but I'm assuming the lack of speech made it harder. A real shame! Maybe one day I'll make one.

Next post I have more artwork planned for my thoughts and ramblings....
