A University of Minnesota college advises employees that “bows/wrapped gifts” are “not appropriate for gatherings and displays at this time of year.”

An academic department at the University of Minnesota declared that “bows/wrapped gifts” are “not appropriate for gatherings and displays at this time of year.”

Encouraging employees to “consider neutral-themed parties such as ‘winter celebration,’” the document even suggests avoiding color combinations associated with Christmas or Hanukkah.
