The first one was made in a 1.12.2 Forge Modpack, where I got the green planks from Biomes O Plenty. For the second one, I am using my own 1.18.1 Fabric Modpack, so the green planks are from the BetterNether mod.
I finally finished my cathedral that I made in survival minecraft for pride month! it took me 2 weeks or so to finish, and i adore the outcome.
This build has 8 pride flags in it, representing Lesbians, MLM Gays, Bisexuals, Transgender folks, Queer folks, Intersex folks, Asexual folks, and finally Xenogender folk! I had a lot of fun building this 13th century french style cathedral, and i can’t wait to start my next project!
I haven’t posted in a while, and the server has temporarily closed. I’ve moved our community to another older server called Civclassic, and I’ll be sharing pictures from that server in the future!
This is me in front of my home in the city of Icenia - it’s an RV parked on a bit of grass in the middle of the city.
That time has come around again - our May 2020 building contest has come to a close, and it’s time to look at our entries and determine the winner!
The theme for this month was “Future”, and we got some really fantastic builds and some amazing development from some of our players. Let’s check them out and find out who won!
Runner Up - BLiTZKR13G - Unfinished Futuristic Build
Coords: X 531, Z +339 (within Hydra 3)
---
Unfortunately Blitz did not finish this build, and is not eligible for an official place but instead is included as a runner up! This is a great start to the build. There’s a great White Concrete skeleton that and it looks like it could have been some sort of futuristic office building or alien spaceship! Or it might just be a monument. Good effort Blitz - hopefully you can find a way to finish it off!
BLiTZKR13G has received the runner up prize of 4 gold and a commemorative wooden shovel for participating!
---
Second Place - bparo2012 - Rocket Launch!
Coords: X -1031, Z +1591 (nearby to Emerald Hills)
---
bparo2012 featured in last month’s building contest with a simple Acacia Cottage, and in the space of the month this self-professsed newbie has created something amazing.
It’s an amazing, detailed and fun rocket launchpad, with mission control featuring a fish tank, levers in the cockpit of the shuttle and a really fantastic and atmospheric look. Using lava for the “blast off” flame is an excellent touch.
Every part of this build screams “fun”. I feel like bparo really gave this his best, and really delivered on a quality build that fit the theme to a T.
I struggled a lot with whether to award this build first place or not - and because it was so difficult, although I will not be awarding second place bparo2012 will also receive 16 gold in recognition of this fantastic build!
bparo2012 earns 2nd place, with a special prize of 16 gold and a commemorative wooden shovel for participating!
---
First Place - Falling_Raine91 - Tower Rose
Coords: X -1395, Z -3132 (nearby to Druid Inc)
---
Words fail me. In the space of a month, spending countless hours gathering resources, building, and designing, user Falling_Raine91 has created this mammoth building - the Tower Rose. Not only is it almost entirely made out of concrete, but coloured concrete at that!
Putting aside the effort required, this building also has a unique concept as well. The Tower Rose is meant to be a space elevator - connecting earth with the heavens. It features two up and down elevators for personnel, and a giant goods elevator on the back. I can imagine it like a giant space gun - firing off capsules and shipments into colonies in the solar system.
While interior decoration is somewhat lacking, the sheer scale of this build and the quality of the decoration that is there stands out, and makes it the clear recipient of First Prize!
Falling_Raine91 wins the top prize of 16 gold and UltraDonator rank for a week, which includes access to all player particle effects!

A really big thank you to everyone who participated! The theme for next month’s building competition is “Medieval”. If you’d like to participate, post your build in #screenshots on Discord with a title and coordinates. Entries close at the end of June 2020!

On Planet One we’ve modified Vanilla Minecraft to be more balanced for a meaningful survival multiplayer experience. This also means we’ve got some custom crafting recipes you should know about.
Powered Rails Buff
We use Gold Ingots as the main currency for our server. This made Powered Rails extremely expensive, because people would literally have to burn money to make them.
To promote the creation of railways, we have reduced the cost of Powered Rails by swapping the Gold Ingots in the recipe to Gold Nuggets, and raising the output of the recipe from 6 to 12 Powered Rails.
Hi all! Quick post today. Since I’m using images and stuff like that, I thought I’d summarise everything through tumblr instead of trying to stuff it into a Discord post.
Take a look at the image below.
It’s Spawn. It’s beige, brown and boring. And empty. Spawn was always intended to be a temporary structure, and I think we’ve reached the point where it’s time to give it the makeover it so desperately needs.
Announcing our first major community project - the Spawn Redesign. I’d like us all to work together as a team to redesign Spawn into something nicer and better looking.
I want to leave the majority of the work up to you, but there are a few things the new spawn MUST have:
Preserve the natural landscape of the mountains around Spawn (it’s fine if you want to dig into them though)
A central spawn area
At least 12 shop plots available
A PVP arena with capacity for 4v4 team battles
Nether Portal area
Connect to existing road networks
A railway station
A boat harbor (on the North side)
A hotel for new players so they don’t die from mobs immediately
Free “donation chests” area for gear, tools, etc for new players, like we had in S1
A museum where we can mention everybody who participated / contributed and show off rare items.
In terms of how we proceed I think we should move like this:
Decide a central theme and block palette we are working with
Divide up and assign building design to individuals
Create the buildings in Creative Mode and refine design so it all works together.
Lay foundations, roads etc and start building on the server
Contribute blocks and gear to builders and make this happen!
I’ve made a new channel in Discord just for this project, it is called #spawn-redesign. Let’s put all of our discussion, build sharing etc in there.
Really looking forward to working on this with you all! This is the biggest project I’ve worked on, and I’m very keen to see what we do with it.
It’s been great to see an excellent start to Planet One Season 2. Already we’ve seen some fantastic creativity, some up and coming groups and some great public transport initiatives beginning to take shape.
A little late but as promised - here are the entries and winners for the first Planet One building contest! The theme was “Home”, and it was great to see everybody’s interpretations on it.
Without further ado, here are the awards!
Runner Up - bparo2012 - Acacia Cottage
Coords: X -582, Z +935
---
For a self professed newbie to the game, bparo2012 has done an excellent job of a simple, humble acacia cottage situated not far from spawn’s south tunnel. It’s elegant and has a nice use of colour, mixing almost all the wood types in a way that doesn’t feel overpowering. While this is a fantastic first time effort, unfortunately the lack of decorations indoors has meant it has missed out on the top spots.
bparo2012 has received the runner up prize of 4 gold and a commemorative wooden shovel for participating!
---
3rd Place - gatsegev - Abandoned Home
Coords: X -935, Z +1291
---
Loved this take on the theme from gatsegev. An abandoned home in the woods, filled with vines, leaves and rotten floorboards and a lonely crafting table being the only evidence of habitation. The cracked stone bricks are an excellent touch. Compared to some of the other builds on this list however, it falls flat in its scale and in the details. Great thinking behind this one though, and for that it earns 3rd Place.
gatsegev earns the 3rd Place prize of 8 gold and a commemorative wooden shovel for participating!
---
2nd Place - TheAchi - The Tavern
Coords: X -781, Z +1578
---
A fantastic showing of TheAchi’s talent, this tavern has a fantastic exterior and detailed interior, with lower and upper floors. The tavern, and the town around it is a great medley of form and function, being lived in and used for purpose. I’m loving the details of the build - the great use of wooden stairs and logs, the lanterns and the inventive use of a bed as a beer label! Achi unfortunately misses out on the top spot here by a hair, but this was a VERY TOUGH decision to make. The Tavern is functional, and features a variety of drinks players can purchase. Be sure to pay him a visit!
TheAchi earns the 2nd place prize of 12 gold and a commemorative wooden shovel for participating!
---
1st Place - leeass - House in the Woods
Coords: X -1446, Z -603
---
This is hands down, an absolutely stunning build. Located in a scenic forest, with excellent exterior and interior details, this cozy build embodies “home”. A good mix of wood types, and various other aesthetic touches, and not to mention you can experience some great sunsets on the balcony. Excellent work Leas, you are well deserving of the prize.
leeass wins the top prize of 16 gold and UltraDonator rank for a week, which includes access to all player particle effects!
---
Once again, a really big thank you to everyone who participated and we hope to get more entries in next month’s building competition! The theme will be released on 1st May 2020.

If you’ve been following the Discord, you’ll know that Planet One is currently in a bit of a transition period - and I need YOUR HELP!
Our original incarnation, now known as Season 1, was started in April 2019 and intended to be a no resets, long term survival server, but it had some pretty glaring issues:
The seed was discovered and used by some players to locate and raid structures early in the map’s history.
No incentive to engage in the map’s economy - once players had endgame gear, there was no reason to keep playing, leading to inactivity.
Players both felt simultaneously isolated and cramped due to a bloated spawn region but limited claims system.
Teleports were the only money sink, but were used so rarely by players that they didn’t do what they needed to.
Players had no agency in the world, looking to admins for guidance and ownership of something bigger.
Due to rising inactivity and general boredom, we’ve decided to opt for a map reset and to revamp the server into what we’re calling Season 2. Season 2 has some pretty big changes coming:
No central spawn area - players randomly spawn in the wilderness around a 5k radius map.
Towny claiming system - to encourage the development of player communities around the map that are truly in their control.
Biome-based ore distribution and crop growth - to encourage inter-city trading and specialisation.
No mending enchant - to promote a local enchanting and tool building economy.
No teleportation - to motivate local trading and vanilla transportation.
Keepinventory off - because dying should mean something.
Daily play rewards - the more you engage with the world, the more advantages you get.
Ruins and relics - player-built structures dotted around the world from Season 1, and secret powerful items hidden around the map for you to find.
And we’ll be evaluating these changes and more as we continue in the Open Beta.
The Open Beta is essentially a “working copy” of Season 2, using the old world from Season 1. We’ll test the plugins, the game balance and other things. Some important things to note for returning players:
Vaults no longer work - place gold in your Ender Chest instead.
Make sure your bed is set - otherwise you’ll random spawn in the wilderness!
KeepInventory is off - dying means something!
Band together with others and make a town - check out the Towny commands for how to do that, and let me know if anything doesn’t work.
Farms, items, wealth etc WILL NOT come to Season 2 - just notable player built structures. Which leads me to...
Don’t be afraid to build! - If you build something great, let me know and it might come through to Season 2 as a ruin!
I’m very excited to see what you guys make of the Open Beta and I welcome all of your feedback and bug reports. If something doesn’t work, let me know and I’ll aim to fix it ASAP.

I’ll keep updating this devblog as I go. Happy playing!
Hey everyone! So, before I show you my factory I thought I’d show you the base I’ve been in for most of this server’s lifespan - the Old Tower! This was originally a Roguelike Dungeon, but I conquered it for all it was worth and built some extensions to make it my own.
On the bottom floor, I have a mob spawner that uses EnderIO powered spawners. It takes a lot of power to spawn each mob but it’s reliable and it works! Alongside the spawner room, outside, is the Magical Crops farm I used for all of the clay I used for the factory! I need to replace it with other crops now.
On the first floor, in the original dungeon room is a sorta hybrid Thaumcraft/bedroom/jerky room. I used to eat a lot of monster jerky because I was forever killing zombies! The next room is above the mob spawner below, and it used to be where all my machines were packed in. I’m in the process of moving all of my machines to my new factory next door, but it’s slow going.
You can access the roof via a ladder in the first room. Up there are stairs leading to the windmill for maintenance, a cocoa bean farm I barely use and a surface I used for portals. On the other side of the roof are a few Capacitor Banks from EnderIO being fed by a temporary Big Reactor and a solar panel. This is where all the power in my base is being routed from.
Long term, I’m going to turn this into a purely Thaumcraft space. I’ll have my infusion altar where the reactor is now.
