Spotted this Blotched Hyacinth Orchid (Dipodium punctatum) on our bush walk the other day. Love stumbling across Australian native orchids!

To my longtime tumblr crew who have joined us on our journey as we've transformed our garden and attitudes to align more harmoniously with nature, I wanna say thanks! Your comments, reblogs and love are much appreciated, as is your support and knowledge! The real purpose of this post, though, is to apologise for not being as active on here as I have been previously. If I haven't replied to comments or asks it isn't anything personal! It's a combination of a) being flooded by 50,000+ notes on ONE silly pressed flower photo set I posted and b) recently entering a committed relationship with Instagram. Whilst I'll still keep this tumblr account active, I'll be investing more energy into my Insty account @plant.rant where I post pics almost daily. Some biggies from our nighttime bush walk!

@iamthe-lizard-queen took us on a nighttime bush walk last night and we saw so many spiders! Not to mention frogs and centipedes too!

Decided to stop hoarding this bag of alpaca wool and just use it as a weed mat in the garden. Willy approves!

Pressed for space and can't put in any raised beds because the landlord will kick up a stink? Why not try container gardening using window boxes! This is my bff's set up at her rental and it's working a treat!

Beautiful tick bush (Kunzea ambigua) @iamthe-lizard-queen and I used in our wild pollinator count back in November. Look at those blossoms!

Original plans I drew up as part of an assessment in my Intro to Permaculture Design Course. These ended up being the basis for the design and layout of our food-not-lawns backyard. Best decision we ever made!

I'm a massive pasta fiend. Some dinners I've made recently using homegrown herbs and veggies, not to mention some tomatoes from @iamthe-lizard-queen's garden. Yum!
