Vimm's Lair: Preserving the Classics

Preserving classic videogames from consoles past.

I'm just gonna slide this on in here for anyone that is interested in preserving old games. They take it very seriously too, they want an archive of every single game. Like, they have lists of every game ever released for a system, and once that system gets old enough, they add it to their archive and start collecting. Their latest addition was the Xbox 360, they opened that vault up in September 2022, and proudly announced they'd finished their collection of games for it back in April.

Also, while their game archives are almost entirely complete, they've got another project of archiving the manuals that came with those games, and that is... considerably less well filled out. Their collection of Xbox 360 manuals is especially rough, they've only gotten manuals for three games. So if you've got some Xbox 360 games kicking around, and the manual's still with them, please consider scanning them and submitting them to the site!

Game preservation is important, but people rarely consider preserving the manuals as well; I really respect Vimm's Lair for being so thorough in their archival work.

My coworker is annoying the POOPYBUTT OUT OF ME! Every day it's a different issue! This mf thinks he's the manager!

I hate making waves, but i ended up talking to our boss about it today, and she reassured me i had nothing to worry about. I was like I KNOW but HE'S BEING AN ISSUE! It's literally like, he brings so many issues that he IS the issue. Last night our newest hire asked me how long I thought I could put up with this and i was like yo. Im like water moving around a concrete block. But WATER STILL HAS RESISTANCE and BOY I CAN FEEL THE CONCRETE BLOCK IN MY RIVER

Washington Post is paywalling the article but it looks like Taylor Farms — a consumer bagged salad brand that also supplies produce to grocers and fast food chains like Taco Bell, Walmart, McDonald's, Chipotle, Burger King, KFC, and Meijer —may be at least one of the sources of the current cyclosporiasis outbreak.

Taylor makes bagged greens, salad kits, chopped salads, the works. Keep avoiding supermarket greens, but keep an especially close eye out for this brand/supplier. The above list of grocers and fast food chains is NOT exhaustive, so please continue getting lettuce and other raw produce taken off your burgers, sandwiches, etc.

Today I tried to make a friend and it went SO WRONG LOLOL my friend bf and I were at the local carnival and we saw this super cool girl with the best done scene makeup n hair ?!?!??! And she came up to us and was complimenting us on our styles!!! And so i introduced us all and she was so sweet and then she ASKED HOW OLD WE WERE .
