There was a sigh as the professor closed her books. The laboratory in Nuvema Town made for a great place to get some actual work done outside the noise of the city. Unfortunately, it didn’t stop those around from making them. She pushed back her chair, which, miraculously enough, didn’t scrape the floor, and went to investigate.
There were a few of her assistants, those that actually chose to stay in the lab, that she could hear, chattering with the newcomer. Ah, she recognized that voice easily enough. There was a particular tone to it that didn’t quite match anything other than what she experienced in Kalos.
She pushed the door open, and, sure enough, there he was.
“Dr. Platane.”
Laughter broke through the chatter every once in a while. Oh, the joys of conversation. No matter if they were of little or high intelligence everyone was sure to have something to contribute to a conversation. Platane waved a hand in the air to dismiss a compliment towards the region of Kalos.
“Non, you flatter us most. The truth is less beautiful to behold. We too have problems past and future. With villains and heroes and... Professor Juniper!”
He turned from the giggling assistants to his fellow regional professor. A smile as professional as it was genial greeted her.
“Professor, your assistants are, how do you say it, you have good hands in your laboratory. They have been most helpful.”
