High Sorcerer references for my favorite narrative haunters of Azerim

– I headcanon that out of all the DM NPCs, Billandra Laethil is the one that would look the most like Rob. Fitting, being the supposed BBEG if not for Lako'thec. The DM is the BBEG type shi

– The only real description of Kelothac came from Rob's short description of him and the BRIEF mention of Kelothac being a Svartholm Elf in a random episode of the Into the Darklands campaign. The IMPLICATIONS of him being what is Azerim's equivalent of Drows, outcast in the Darklands... It makes his goal of bringing Giants and other humanoid races together so much more impactful.

Also, I gave him green eyes like what Adam/Baradun have. I love the idea that Laethil, despite loathing Baradun for upstaging him and hating Kelothac for "spoiling" him, he sees his old friend in Baradun and is distraught once he got his empathy back. He betrayed the man who believed in him twice.

– In Azerim lore outside of SkyCraft as a game, I think Baradun is a tragic character too. Not only did he at 10 years old stop the Gerdawn siege but he was placed in a position of power so young and lost. Kelothac, the only person who could've guided him in being a High Sorcerer disappeared, and the one person left who should be helping him wants him dead.

I also imagine that's why Baradun treats Laethil as a "best friend." Aside from Adam joking, there is a very real chance that Baradun grew up with Laethil as his guardian since Kelothac's disappearance. There is barely any mention of his life outside of being High Sorcerer, he could be an orphan for all we know.

Gods, I would kill for an Azerim Lore Bible.

I have a vague memory of a survey where they asked if a kind of lore bible would be something people would be interested in. I think I voted for it, no idea what that became of though.

So...what have I been up to? I have not been painting. I didn't really feel a "calling" to do so 😅 and it's so much fucking work I really need a caling for that.😂😂 But also I've been struggling with a tennis elbow, which is probably actually a late consequence of all the painting I did.😅

It was then made a lot worse by all the sewing I did for my Bodger cosplay... Because OF COURSE because it's such a project of the heart, I was determined to sew as much as possible by hand.🤦🏼‍♀️

Not saying it wasn't worth it, but I also haven't been able to do any biceps workouts which sucks, because I feel like a Bodger cosplay calls for big, beefy arms!! Buuuut I've been building my neck and shoulder muscles, which also matches the bulky Bodger vibe.

Anyway, a mutual of mine actually made me a custom hammer for my cosplay and I've started using it in my content which I'll post here soon.

And then I've tried something new: A VLDL cooking show! 😂🧄🥣

AND I recorded a new parody song which will hopefully also get a music video soon.

I am so mad because I once again return to the Viva La Dirt League fandom against my will (I started actually playing TTRPGs and remembered the campaign that introduced me to the potential of D&D, making me want to finish Adventures of Azerim again)

But get this. I've been here for SIX YEARS. I was here when I desperately searched Tumblr in 2020 and there were like two generic posts, and in AO3 there were only 8 fics (special shout out to Won't Ever by MarieTamagochi, still an absolute BANGER!)

I became a really huge fan of EVERYTHING but only had my friends to talk to about it. Eventually, we moved on to other fandoms, but I once again got pulled into it in 2023 at the peak of the Adventures of Azerim campaign and got really into them (I love you Clementine Scrib). I ALSO got into Rekt which is EVEN WORSE because it's a niche thing in an already niche fandom and now that I come back IT WAS MY ORIGINAL HEATED RIVALRY. I'm going to explode. I was happy to find there were people here now though, and to be fair, I didn't do anything to contribute much.

And now I come back again. 2026. SIX YEARS. Baelin's Route is out. Kickstarter straight up hauled their work into another level. They have Viva+. They get close to a million views every video and yet NOTHING. No huge fandom boom. NO CHARACTER EDITS ON TIKTOK??? What is this sorcery

Throughout all of this, I do recognize that I DIDN'T DO ANYTHING ABOUT IT AS WELL. So take this random, out-of-nowhere rant as my promise to at least make SOMETHING in this fandom. Everything, from Bored to ESPECIALLY Epic NPC Man has so much lore for deep dive fandom analyses that it's been driving me crazy. I need this thing to have a huge fandom boom. I'M REVERSE GATEKEEPING. I'M OPENING THE GATES WIDE AND PUSHING EVERYONE IN IT
