اتَّقِ اللَّهَ حَيْثُمَا كُنْتَ وَأَتْبِعِ السَّيِّئَةَ الْحَسَنَةَ تَمْحُهَا، وَخَالِقِ النَّاسَ بِخُلُقٍ حَسَنٍ

Keep God in mind wherever you are; follow a wrong with a right that offsets it; and treat people courteously.

I did not see the face of Muhammad (ﷺ), and that is the sorrow of my heart.

وَلَكِنْ فِي كُلِّ شَوْقٍ إِلَيْهِ نُورُ وِدَادِي.

Yet in every longing for him, there is a light of love.

فَمَا عِشْتُ فِي زَمَانِهِ، وَلَا سِرْتُ فِي رِكَابِهِ،

I did not live in his time, nor did I walk in his company.

فَذَاكَ أَلَمِي الدَّائِمُ وَأَعْظَمُ حُزْنِ فُؤَادِي.

That is my enduring pain and the greatest sorrow of my heart.
