We are Play Fair and we make indie emo music! Our main influences are My Chemical Romance, Bloc Party, and Interpol. We have a show coming up in Los Angeles this Friday, April 4 and tickets are on sale now!

On Spotify artist only make $0.003 per stream, that is less than a penny

By buying a $25 record, even if only 20% of the money you spend gets back to the artist (a realistic estimate and probably a bit under what they actually get) you’re still giving them as much support as 1,666 streams, that’s the equivalent of listening to a double album in full nearly 100 times

Another possibility, if you can’t afford vinyl or a turn table cut out production costs and any other middle man and buy a digital download on Bandcamp for $5, that $5 goes straight to supporting the music you love so you can hear more of it

Most small artists have their Bandcamp sales pay what you want so if you can’t afford $5 you can go even lower than that

Or even better, go to local shows and by merch! By simply showing up to their performances you’re making them want to create more art and by wearing their t shirt not only are you supporting them monetarily but you’re also introducing potential new fans who are interested in your shirt

Can’t afford to give artists money directly? Go to benefit shows, you can usually get in for free and tickets are optional donations towards charities to help minority, unhoused, disabled, or otherwise disadvantaged communities. By showing up to these shows weather you’re able to donate or not you’re showing venues we want things like these to continue and you help open the doors for more benefit shows in the future

Hey what’s up! We are No Surprises, an alt rock band from the San Fernando Valley in LA!

Our songs are a mix of indie rock, post-punk, and emo. We take influence from a ton of bands, including but not limited to Smashing Pumpkins, Bloc Party, My Chemical Romance, and Interpol.
