Three brand new girls—top to bottom, Elizabeth (Liz), Margarita (Maggie), and Francesca (Fran). Liz and Fran both came with Fashionista evolution bodies, Liz tall and Fran curvy. I left Fran her original body but really wanted Liz to have that “made to move” flexibility. Maggie is an MtM mod as well.
Fran is still stuck with her original outfit too—going to be a challenge finding her some clothing options!
Two new rebodies—Vita and Estelle, sisters of the wild hair.
The family welcomes its newest member, Sasha, another mod. I found her body in a thrift store a couple of weeks ago, and because none of my girls quite matched up with it, I went digging around on eBay for a doll that looked right. She showed up today, and the head and body are a great match!
More Barbie mods... This is all of my mods so far. Clockwise from top:
Estelle: An “Endless Hair Kingdom*” head, with a haircut, popped onto a body I bought in a thrift store.
Mindy: A Fashionista head on a “Barbie Style” body. The Fashionista bodies actually seem to be higher quality, but the Style bodies have the advantage of articulated joints (including wrist and ankle joints).
Amy: Same as Mindy
Allison: Same as Mindy and Amy. I did all three of them together; they got the body swaps because their skin tones happened to be the ones that matched the articulated Barbie Style line.
*What kind of kingdom is a kingdom based on “endless hair,” anyway?
Behold my first Barbie mod. This girl had been hanging around in Target for a week with a really quite lovely head (pic 1) attached to a (in my opinion) really pretty silly and unplayable body (pic 2).
Unsurprisingly, in spite of her cool head, she didn’t seem to be selling. The second time I saw her, I bought her, took her home, and looked up how to swap out Barbie heads. I pried the nice head off of the silly body with a knitting needle, unearthed an old doll left over from one of my previous Frankensteinian experiments, pried off her (already mutilated) head as well, and wangled the new head onto her body. Mens sana in corpore sano!
I may have developed an unhealthy enthusiasm for this kind of thing. I’m already looking for more heads to pop off.
Iku, with a maneki neko (fortune cat) and a yukata from FabHat on Etsy.
Been struggling with a hand injury, so I bought the girls clothes to hold them over until I can get back to knitting.
Katniss models the latest item.
It’s a nice day, so I took Tris and Akua out for some shots.
Kat is sitting because her stand is stupid.
Akua and Sandy, new dresses.
