Uni had already gotten herself comfy with Kei as the countdown began, the two of them being on a hill with a great view of the stars, because it’s a quiet yet romantic spot.

It was Uni’s idea, really.

As the countdown finally hit zero, Uni leaned in to give Kei a quick kiss on the lips.

“Happy New Years, Kei. Here’s to another great year for Lastation, and for us.”

Leaving the Basilicom to celebrate the New Year was something Kei never really did for... quite most of her time serving as Lastation’s oracle.

And yet... Uni had dragged her out for the sake of giving them something romantic to do to celebrate the New Year. It was a little different from her usual way of spending her New Years watching television from her desk, to say the least. It was weird... but Kei wasn’t complaining.

That said, the kiss absolutely caught her off-guard. i’m not using my shocked sprites for this, so at least she recovered fairly quickly, even softly returning it in the moment it was there.

“ ... M-Mm. Yes... a Happy New Years to you as well, Uni. I hope for the best for everyone... for us. ”
