There's something I just noticed about the 2004 Hellboy that doesn't make any sense to me, and I haven't seen any one mention it yet. Does the psychiatric hospital that Liz goes to actually know why she's there?
Like when she says "I don't like the term 'fire-starter'." "'pyrokinesis' sounds like some psychosis or something." "I black out after each episode. Sometimes for hours. You hear about so and so......who just lost control and just exploded. Well, they're lucky it isn't true. With me, it is."
Do they just think she's crazy? Do they believe her? They apparently believed her enough to let her have four fire extinguishers in her room, right next to her bed.
And the next time we see Liz, a doctor that works at that hospital says "She was making great progress...and now this. We'll be closed for months." "She's been like this since it happened. Are you sure you want to go in? "
Like lady, one of the patients at the hospital that you work for just exploded into flames, and killed everyone that was in the building. How are you being so calm about this? Has this happened before? Does everyone at that hospital just know and accept that she can do this? If you knew that she can do this, why didn't you put her in a fireproof room?
Everyone in this world will freak out when they see a devil-man cross the street, but they won't when they see a woman literally on fire...unit the second movie where people freak out when they see her on fire.
