dear you, focus on yourself focus on yourself focus on yourself focus on yourself focus on yourself focus on yourself focus on yourself.
I have a story about a great professor I have that should be a setting example of how to deal with students in a way that doesn’t destroy them:
I had a meeting with her about a lab report I turned in, that I got around a B- on because my writing isn’t the best. She explained to me a few things in the following ways:
1. She started by telling me the points that I really did well in, in a very believable, genuine way (it didn’t feel like just bs to make me feel better).
2. She let me know how to fix my poor writing. This is so important. I have turned in so many papers where I’ve received similar grades where no one says what’s wrong just, you need to work harder. She explained exactly my issue and where I was going wrong and even went over some possible strategies on how to not suck.
3. She helped me set goals. She said this is where you are and by the end of the semester this is where you can be.
I did not leave this meeting hating myself, I did not leave this meeting thinking I’m not good or smart enough, but rather knowing I have potential, I have support, and that I can do it.
THIS IS SO IMPORTANT!!!
She sees her job as a professor as someone that will help me learn, grow, and develop into a professional, not as someone who expects her students to already be there, like many do.
Before January ends, I’m going to magically and extremely be blessed by the universe.
not gonna risk scrolling past this
Just a reminder, but you do not need to “earn” being tired.
You’re allowed to be tired, even if you haven’t “done” anything and you’re allowed to be tired even if you did less than someone else.
Being tired is a normal thing your body does for a whole plethora of reasons, and is a basic bodily function. You don’t need to “earn” basic bodily functions, no matter what anyone else tells you.
hey hey hey this is really important, especially as a reminder to people with disorders that cause chronic exhaustion.
Say it louder for the people at the back!
It’s okay that you’re not who you thought you would be

where! has! my! passion! gone! I had it abundantly when I was a child, and I must have dropped it along the way, but I cannot figure where!
oh hey folks fun update, i found my passion again? i just had to find my right outlet, get to a place where I have aspirations, dispel apathy and pursue what I love, it’s all good and swell!
reblog this to find the right outlet, get to a place where you have aspirations, dispel apathy and pursue what you love, and rediscover your passion.
I need this. I need this so much.
Perfect spot to sit between lunch and class. It’s raining, it’s cold, but I’ve got my almond milk cappuccino (yes I’m that girl) so I’m good.

Don’t worry if your goals seem too far away or unreachable — if people tell you it’s never going to happen. People are wrong. The only person who can set limits in regards to what you can or should become is you. You’ll grow, one step after another, and soon enough you will look back and realize that you’ve become the person you’ve wanted to be, the person they didn’t believe could exist.

This is my favorite spot in the library. I just had a job interview and now I’m prepping for Latin class. I hope everyone’s week is getting off to a good start!
