So I've made a dating profile and it seems like I'm going more out of my way to message guys. I'm a 19 year old girl, I attend university, people say I'm pretty, but I don't usually get contacted back by these guys. Is it because they know I won't be in town when I leave for school again in the fall? Or do they just not want to try because of my ethnicity, because I'm beginning to think it might be that (I'm caribbean/hispanic). Thanks in advance! :)

Let me preface this answer by saying it is probably extremely biased to the type of guys I have experienced.

I don't think it has anything to do with ethnicity.  I'd say it has a lot to do with the age and maturity of the guys that you are speaking with.  Their minds are all over the place, but still seem to focus on one main goal, which is women.  

If you are looking for a serious relationship, it might do you better to look for a more mature male (I'm not talking a silver fox, just someone past their college partying stage).  

If you're into having a good time and going with the flow, then just be more aggressive about it.  If you are attracted to a guy, don't be afraid to go over and spike his interest with a conversation.  The worst that could happen is he could say "no".
