vaccinate your fucking kids
holy shit do you know what year it is (via callmeoutis)
no offense but this year, politically, across the entire globe, has been an absolute jokeÂ
Keep Lavish Diamond Reynolds, her child and the entire Castile-extended family in your prayers today. Lavish is said to have finally been released from police custody. Now she must begin to work to rebuild her and her childâs life, after witnessing and documenting Philando Castileâs execution by Minnesota police. We uplift their courage, and mourn for a loss no one should have to face. #farfromover
I can never stop posting this. The narrow minded bible fanatics that just look at one small thing in the bible then feed the world with their hate over it. At the same time they ignore all the other silly laws made by man they claimed were made by god. These gifâs say it all.
REBLOG EVERY TIME
Think about those questions.
Seriously. As an LGBT Christian, it is upsetting for me when I see other so-called âChristiansâ only bringing up parts of the Bible that suit them. Whenever the old âMan shall not lie with manâ line comes up, they somehow seem to forget âLove thy neighbourâ, âDo not judge, or you shall be judgedâ, and the fact that Jesus loved all people, including sinners, gays, prostitutes; EVERYONE.
I have never been so happy. It's like all my dreams have come true. I love my life!
so on one hand we have a Muslim father who is apologizing for the crimes of his son against LGBT people and saying how his sonâs actions were motivated by hatred and wants to âapologize for the entire thing.â
And on the other hand we have the white Stanford rapistâs dad who is telling the world to feel bad for his son because he just wanted 20 minutes of action and now he canât eat steak like he used to.Â
âŠ.but tell me again you racist pieces of shit about how itâs Islam thatâs the anti-feminist, misogynistic religion.
youâre scared that weâre going to pee in your bathrooms while weâre scared that youâre going to shoot us in our bars
In the face of sadness, obviously, in the face of yesterdayâs fucking bullshit, itâs just.. everybodyâs exhausted with that kind of thing, and I donât really know what to say, I donât really know what to think about it. I saw something written down, and I agreed with it: thereâs just thereâs so many divides. Right? Thereâs just so many divides at the moment, and there always has been, and thereâs them, right, thereâs them, which is people who hate and people who kill other people, and thereâs us, which is people who donât. And thatâs the only divide in the world. Thatâs the only divide that really exists. And I think that weâre this generation, this generation of young people, weâre gonna change the fucking world. You can hear them dying off - âbuild a wall!â You know what I mean? Theyâre dying. Theyâre literally dying. So in the face of last night, weâve changed our production slightly. This songâs called Loving Someone.
Matty addressing the Orlando attacks before Loving Someone in Charlottesville 6.12.16 (via slendergraspongrammar)
To every straight person who has ever said âBut what about straight pride?â or who has ever thought that the LGBTQ movement ended with marriage equality, I want you to understand that my people are being attacked. My people are dying. My heart breaks for all of those who were at Pulse in Orlando last night. These people were targeted for simply existing in the world as who they are. All my love goes out to those survivors, families of victims, and ALL of my LGBTQ* family out there. You are all in my thoughts today.
As a cis straight white female of privilege, I feel reluctant to make a big sweeping statement about the horrific tragedy in Orlando. But as a person with many close LGBT+ friends, and just as a human, my heart breaks today. I canât say I know how any of you in that community feel, because Iâve never been made to feel scared or unsafe or less than because of my gender, sexuality or who and how I choose to love. But my heart goes out to every single one of you who have ever felt this way and for anyone whom this atrocious act of hate may make to feel any of these things.
Most of you probably follow me because of the 1975, the band that I love the most. And though thatâs generally the content I stick to, itâs hard for me to ignore or not acknowledge that over the past few touring cycles Iâve done with the band, awful tragedies and attacks born of hate have converged. Paris. Brussels. Now Orlando. The boys tour constantly, and itâs a sad statement that there also always seems to be an attack or act or terrorism or bigotry or hate that coincides with their tours. Shows are the happiest time and place for many of us. A safe place. A place of community. Family. I know thatâs why the bataclan attack hit home especially hard for me. And pulse was no different for the LGBT+ people in Orlando. For someone to attempt to dismantle that sanctuary of acceptance, community, vibrancy and love is unthinkable. atrocious.
My heart goes out to the LGBT+ community in the wake of this tragedy, and especially to those in our 1975 family, I hope that you always feel a sense of sanctuary here. Matty said it. I am reminded of it with every single show I go to and every single time I speak to him, and to all of you, on here everyday: This band is about love.
He doesnât like to cuddle. He likes to grip my hips and pull the fibers of pink tissue in shreds from my lip with his teeth. He throws his hands in the air like a messiah and leans his head out the open window. easy. breathe. codeine. breeze. We laugh loudly and kiss loudly and moan loudly. He mouths vulgar things that make me giggle in front of our friends. I run my hand along the seam off his tight black jeans beneath the table top. He rolls his eyes and smirks at me. We take every opportunity to touch, to feel, so secretly. So public. Exhibitionist pleasure. We play like children, tousling my hair and I climb on his back. We roll spliff after spliff and talk rapidly and vigorously and trip over each others sentences like a sidewalk crack. He says âusâ like it means âamenâ and his eyes burn wild with a fire of passion. We get drunk. Off of wine and skin and things we love. His smile erupts across his face like it could shatter his cheekbones. His eyes glimmer like a lake catching the glare of the moonlight. A glint of silver is growing up the side of his hairline. He thinks it makes him look distinguished. I laugh and agree. He loves to be so much older than me. He thinks it makes him wise. We spend a lot of time in hotel rooms with the doors shut. (We spend a lot of time outside of hotel rooms with our mouths shut.) He thinks the Xanax makes the sex last longer and I donât argue. I always wake up first. I sit at the desk and work quietly and glance at him in the sheets. Vulnerable and quiet. Soft face. Soft sounds. A warm cup of coffee and marmalade light through the windows. We bond over love for our brothers. We fight over where the chord change should go. We tease, oh we tease. He likes clean socks and messy hair and he runs his fingers down my overall straps with a tigers grin. He writes his name in the fog on the mirror from where he grabbed a fistful of my hair and pressed my face against the glass. He loves soul music. We sing confidently and triumphantly. I tap my fingers like spiders legs across his bare chest and undo his buttons one by one. I toss my head back and laugh maniacally and pout my lips when he wonât be fair. He speaks like a pastor and trips over his words, his tongue struggles to meet his brain. Thatâs how a prodigy thinks. (Or itâs the drugs). He knows when my words are about him and he lets it all go to his head and I donât care because I love to watch him love himself. We laugh and fuck and play and write and plot and say goodbye and never worry. He is my occasional constant. A parody of himself. A paradox of ever present and transparent. I donât care what he is.
