One thing I've noticed from people watching is how curious we are. Whenever there is a loud noise, our first instinct is to investigate it. When we head of a drama online, most people will search it up. If we overhear gossip, it usually will drive (most) people to go ahead and listen.

Those are a few examples, but think of it on a bigger scale. The whole concept of all religion is "how the hell did this world and us as a species come to be?"

My example today is a weirder one, but one personal to me. Whenever I go to Costco, I like to go inside the sheds and sit there in the dark to scare people. Every time that I've done this, multiple people open the door and get surprised. They knew what they were going to see inside of that shed, yet they still opened it anyway just to be sure, and reacted with genuine surprise or even fear when it wasn't what they expected.

I think the humans on ships (along with disassembling random bullshit) would pique the aliens' interests just by how curious we are. We always look for explanations. 90% of the science field is just that. How does this work? We don't tend to accept that it just works and that's all. We have things like documentaries and educational videos specifically for this. Other species are curious about things, but it's more about what they are and what they do other than how it works and how it was made/built. Very cool :)
