On "Trans Woman Alters": You'll want to be careful around this point. Remember that an identity is not dictated purely by "feeling" like something, but rather, by the material conditions faced by that identity. Additionally, remember that trans women are genuinely women, not women lite, or women adjacent.

On "[Minority] Alters": Much of the same points about "Trans Woman Alters" can be reiterated here: remember that an identity is dictated by material circumstances, not individual identification. What your body lines up with dictates the material conditions experienced by all of your alters.

🫧 i'll start this off by saying for the slow ask answering, everyone!

🫧 we've been having a very difficult time lately, and it's made giving advice very hard, and the last few times we've answered asks haven't been up to our standards at all

🫧 but i wanted to give a more general piece of advice, to alters who struggle to find themselves and define themselves: kin onions!

🫧 the premise is pretty simple, an "onion" with "layers". there are three layers: the innermost layer, with a single slot, the middle layer, with four slots, and the outer layer, with eight slots.

🫧 the goal is to fill all thirteen slots with a character weighted by importance to you. that is to say, the character you relate to the most or base your identity off of the most should go in the innermost layer, characters you can be notably likened to could go in the middle layer, and characters you bear some resemblance to, or just particularly like, can go on the outer layer.

🫧 it's not really something you're supposed to do all at once, so keep that in mind! the intent is a bit "grander" than that: to fill out thirteen slots with thirteen characters all for yourself, you'll almost certainly have to pick up something to read, watch, or listen to.

🫧 maybe the aesthetics of inabakumori's osage-chan really speak to you, or maybe that girl-turned-weapon from your favorite niche piece of media tugs at something deep inside you? onto the kin onion they go!

🫧 to discover yourself, look for yourself in the world around you

🫧 or maybe you'd rather read non-fiction and theory and think this advice is pretty silly, in which case... yeah, that's fair! i can't really imagine someone like that struggling with identity, but in that case, maybe a few tongue-in-cheek jokes? "the second coming of [historical communist figure]", or so on. not literally (unless you believe in reincarnation?), but perhaps the joke can stick, and you're known for your penchant for grasping theory!

hi i saw an anon confused on how to deal with exotrauma and idk if this is useful or not but something that's helped our system immensely with exotrauma / source memories / false memories (aka things that didn't happen to the body but you remember it happening) is treating the emotions they cause as real.

maybe it didn't happen to your body but you remember it, and it still impacts you emotionally. the most important part of this is to take some time to process those emotions. hopefully that might help, even if it's just a little

Hello! I think I'm might be a median system? Apparently it's not normal to have multiple people just chilling in your head? Originally it was just one, but now there's four, and they're all different 'versions' of me? I didn't realize that this wasn't a normal thing until I was talking to some friends yesterday and they said that they never had to say their name to focus on their thoughts, and so I decided to do some research, and median was the term that seemed to fit best, but I'm still a little unsure.
