That’s the only explanation here, right? Doppelgangers are dangerous, that’s what she’s heard from old classmates that enjoyed looking into urban legends. Once a person sees their own unnatural twin, it’s game over; they die in three days and the evil “persona” becomes the only and real one.

Today well and truly is not her day.

The ungodly amount of disorientation stalling emotions beyond utter distress isn’t helpful either.
