" I wish we could just, like, ask a magic ball or something to tell us what was all going on. That way we wouldn't have to live in this limbo of 'is it? isn't it?' I'd totes have a sit down with someone from another world and cook them all sorts of yummy things to try. I'd want the same because what bonds people better than food, but who knows if they even have a fraction of the ingredients we do on Earth. "
Let alone the palette for it, but she'd handle that road block if it ever came up.
" Any ways, I vote we do like... an alien look out night! I can probs ask a friend to borrow their car and we can drive out of the city into a more farmland area or forested one. We'll deff stay at a hotel or lodge, but we can do some exploring at night for all the spooky things we've been talking about! How fun would that be? "
{ ♪ } -- "Magic Eight Balls aren't known for their accuracy, to my utter dismay."
How much easier would things be if something like that could realistically even kind of predict something? Still, she grinned as Harlow spoke. It was easy to stay by her side most of the time. Just.. fun, and Bella felt like she could actually breathe properly around her.
"I think it would be awesome to have a chat with someone from a different world. Just being able to learn things from them and teach them about humanity. It sounds like a great time."
Food was potentially a hurdle, but it would be crossed when they came to it. If they came to it. At the suggestion, she hummed her approval.
"I technically have a car, but since my eyes move around so much on their own, I never drive it. We could totally use that, though. I'm down! What about a ghost tour? I think Louisiana has some really fun ones. That would definitely be more for a longer trip, but I'm positive we could find something closer by that could be driven to."

Ximena was so kind. Really, the redhead should be more grateful and not shaking like a leaf.
"I trust you, I really do... It's just that I've had this fear of drowning since I was a kid and y'know, it's kinda hard to tell the emotional part of my brain that I'll be fine even if the logical part of my brain knows it. But! I'll be okay. We can do it. I can do it. It's fine."
⸺ 水 A stranger offering swimming lessons ( seemingly at no charge. ) It wasn't quite something the strangerdanger 101 would warn people about, but Tomoe wouldn't have been surprised if she had ended up refusing. Perhaps the refusal had yet to come.
Taken along the high of such simple bliss, lips curled into a bright toothy smile. "I'm easy really, as long it's outside of work hours I'm always up for a swim. Maybe it would be easier to exchange numbers or add each other on social media? That way I can send you my work schedule." Not awaiting an answer, she was quick to fish her phone out of her pocket. Bella had often been told that her willingness to trust people was likely going to get her hurt. Really, that exact scenario had happened more than once, so she should be more wary at this point... But, something about her personality wouldn't let that fully click.
After all, Tomoe seemed so nice. Bella was good at detecting bullshit, sometimes anyway, and she didn't get the feeling that the woman in front of her was lying or being facetious in any way. So, she decided to trust that feeling and go for it. If she got bitten for it later... So be it.
"I'm an emergency room doctor, so my schedule can be kind of all over the place... But I promise I'll get you the most accurate schedule I can! I don't use social media all that much, other than Instagram where I just post pictures but usually don't remember to look at anything else. Still, as she stood just inside the door and shifted out of her outdoor shoes in favor of the ones she specifically only wore inside, she hummed with a quiet anxiety.
Bella knew she wasn't much of a fighter. Sure, she had plenty of fire for it, but she didn't know much of anything. Most of her 'fights' had been her dodging until she could get a good whap in that left her hand throbbing later. So, she took a slow breath and looked around to find her teacher.
Suguru doesn't know why he's telling her all of this, really - she'd just sat down next to him and asked if he was alright and here he was, spilling his guts, saying the things he'd had swirling in his mind for so long but had never been able to say to even his closest friends. Maybe it's because he assumed this interaction wouldn't matter, they don't know each other after all - but here she is, trying to cheer him up anyways. It's a weird feeling, honestly - over the past couple months he's been coming to hate humanity more and more, everywhere he looked he saw the smiling faces of the cult members, heard their applause even in the brief moments of silence in his skull, felt the excess cursed energy everywhere he went... But this moment feels so disconnected from all of that. Knowing how hateful he's become it's hard to meet her gaze in the face of such random and genuine kindness.
"Is that so?" He murmurs, looking down at his hands, held loosely between his knees. People care and he just doesn't know it, huh. Do Satoru and Shoko still care? It certainly doesn't feel like it, but he can at least humor the idea of it for a moment. "Well, thank you... I just don't know if it's possible for me to live a fulfilling life, at this point." How could he be satisfied, knowing nothing he did as a sorcerer meant a single thing? And how could he return to "normal" life, knowing that all the non-sorcerers around him were creating more and more curses without even being conscious of it?
He sighs, regretting the words as soon as they come out of his mouth - it's too honest, isn't it? Nobody actually wanted to hear that. Just what does he think he's doing... "Sorry, I guess I shouldn't be complaining so much, huh?"

Who pressed ahead during those moments where negativity attempted to force her hand, determined to find some inkling of positivity even if it was just in the form of learning something. Pain and suffering had been trying to weigh her down, but she did everything in her power to shake them off every time their ugly heads rose to greet her.
It wasn't as if she didn't feel the pain and despair. Of course she did. But it was a choice to succumb to the sadness and the aching or to try and find a way to work with it.
"Complaining is important. You can't bottle things up and try to ignore them. If you do that, there will come a point where everything explodes and it's much worse than it would've been in the moment. It's good to find a way to express your feelings, and complaining is one way to do it. Other ways I express my feelings are with paintings or playing music. They aren't good, really.. At least, I don't think they are, but that doesn't matter. They just have to get the feeling out a little bit."
Her gaze shifted upwards then, focusing on the sky above them both.
"Fulfilment is different for everybody. No one can tell you what you have to do to be fulfilled. But, I make my life fulfilling by showing kindness when I can. It makes me happy, and I like to believe it can make others happy, too."

So, she tapped her gloved fingers on her bicep for a moment.
