The Post-Meridian Radio Players are seeking directors for our upcoming spring show, a double-feature of suspense, disguise, and adventure! Our plays are: Confidence Confidant A short historical play about the first female Pinkerton detective, who goes undercover to befriend the wife of a suspected embezzler and glean the evidence needed to close the case, and in doing so prove the value of women as detectives and law enforcement officers. Filibus, the Mysterious Sky Pirate An adaptation of a pulp-era silent film revolving around Filibus, a lady thief who uses gadgets, guile, and gender-bending disguises to con untold riches into her grasp. In this tale, Filibus seduces a wealthy antique collector for a priceless relic, all while turning the tables on her police inspector nemesis. Follow-Up Statement Re: Arisia Convention Performances
We at the Post-Meridian Radio Players have been closely following and discussing the steps that the Arisia leadership have been taking in recent days to repair their relationship with their fans and collaborators,. We recognize the changes in Executive Board membership and are encouraged by the ongoing policy review, as well as pleased that the 2019 convention location has been changed in support of the striking workers of the Westin Boston Waterfront. After careful consideration, we have come to the belief that the changes made thus far are meaningful, sincere, and executed in good faith.
We know that the conversation surrounding these issues is not over, and we will continue to listen for and take into account the wishes of those most directly affected by Arisia's past mistakes. However, for members of the Arisia fan community who look forward to our annual Arisia programming, we want you to know that in light of progress made, we intend to perform at Arisia as planned, provided that the work to make good continues. We send our gratitude to our audience for bearing with us as we formulated our response. We wish the newly elected members of the Arisia Executive Board luck in moving Arisia towards a safer and more responsive future, and we look forward to building a healthy and productive working relationship with them.

The Post-Meridian Radio Players present their remounting of last winter’s Santa Claus Conquers the Martians! After last year’s smashing success, the PMRP are pulling out even more stops for this year’s production with live Foley effects! If you missed us last year, or loved it and want to see it again, find all the details on our Facebook event page! https://www.facebook.com/events/292236108058502/
Public Statement Re: Arisia Convention Performances
We at the Post-Meridian Radio Players are committed to supporting Crystal Huff following her bringing to light the deeply upsetting actions taken by Arisia leadership to shield and promote her assailant.
As a performance group, we have long appreciated our working relationship with the Arisia convention. That relationship ends immediately, unless the called-for changes in leadership take place.
We are hopeful that the complicit members of the Arisia executive board will do the right thing in stepping down, thereby enabling us and other performing arts groups to perform at the upcoming convention in good conscience. That said, if we must withdraw our programming, we are determined to find new avenues through which to reach the Arisia fan community, ones which we hope will be safer and better equipped to take warranted disciplinary actions.
Until then, we send our sympathy and support to Crystal Huff and the many members of the Arisia community (ourselves included) disappointed by the Arisia executive board and emotionally impacted by these proceedings.

One man’s fear of being buried before his time leads to an obsession with just such cases in The Premature Burial. But no one could really fall victim to such a horrible fate- could they?

Foley/Sound Design Classes & Auditions for Tomes of Terror: Lenore!
Thanks to those of you who came out to Murders and Scandals over the last two weeks! The cast and crew had a great time performing for you, and we hope you also enjoyed yourselves. If seeing the shows got you excited about all things radio theatre, and you'd like to find out more about how to get involved, then you're in luck! The Post-Meridian Radio Players have two exciting opportunities coming up; please see below for more information:
Foley and Sound Design Class
Have you ever wanted to create the sounds in a play? Perhaps you want to create the gunshots, horse hooves and window shatterings that abound in theatre?
Well The Post-Meridian Radio Players are presenting a class on just that! Come by Responsible Grace Church on Saturday July 29th to find out if being a Sound Designer or a Foley artist is for you!
From Noon to 1pm we will be presenting an Introduction to Sound Design, going over what a Sound Designer does, where you get the sound files and what to do when you have them. It will be a good way for you to see if you’d like to pursue being a Sound Designer for a show.
Then from 2-4pm we will be presenting Foley 101. Learn how to create sounds live on stage with a variety of tools! This will feature both discussion and a hands-on portion. This will give you a stress-free way to see if you’re interested in PMRP (or other audio groups) Foley roles.
Attendees are welcome to attend either or both of the segments. It is a free class, although a box for donations is available if you feel so inclined.
Responsible Grace Church is at 204 Elm St. in Somerville.

Meet the Cast and Crew!
Grace Gist (Foley, Murders; sound design) is suspected for perpetrating sonic shenanigans with these radio ruffians for the past year. Cited incidents include foley executed in last year’s summer mysteries, and sound design in both Tomes of Terror: Campfire Tales (fall ’16) and Peter Pan (spring ’17). She thoroughly denies these allegations, though she asks that no attention is paid to the sack of stray waveforms in the back corner.
