What was your best birthday ever?

Childhood: when I was 9 and my mom borrowed a giant tent from our neighbors and let me have a “camping trip” birthday in the backyard with all my friends. We got a fire pit and made s’mores and order pizza and stayed up late. It was awesome

Adulthood: for my 21st birthday I got shit faced with my roommates & partner at the time and then dragged them & some other friends to a beach over 2 hours north the next morning. We got ice cream and alcohol on the way, ran around on the beach, tide pooled a bit, and then drove home at like 11pm

Whats the best advice you’ve ever been told?

Hello gorgeous! I completely missed this ask because I never check this blog.

Recently life has been A LOT. And a dear friend told me that he’s happy to listen because it’s important to tell our stories as a way to build our own narratives.

That’s really stuck with me. A lot of of our human experience is just the stories we tell ourselves. And I think it’s important to build our world through our own perspectives so that we don’t get lots in the experiences and lives of others. To an extent of course, this only applies if you’re a self-critical, empathetic person. Don’t construct your narrative of being a white supremacist
