the dsmp is worse than homestuck because its less thoroughly archived. right now i have basically the entirety of homestuck and related medias accessible to me at any time. i could get into homestuck in 2025 and probably enjoy it a decent amount with the knowledge of its original cultural context. the dsmp is like lost fucking media compared to homestuck. can you imagine someone right now in 2025 hearing about the dsmp and finally deciding to get into it. the source material is fucking gone. one of the creators is dead (fly high technoblade) and many other significant contributors either actively try to avoid being brought back to That Time or are such assholes that it tarnishes the name. wtf how do you even explain that to someone. i could get a buddy into homestuck easy. i could not do so with the dsmp.s save me

I am that new dsmp fan that joined the fandom in 2025 and got interested in characters im not even sure are archived enough if you get what i mean. This is bizzare. I feel bad for not joining earlier since some streams are just gone and all i have of them left are livebloggings posts, couple of clips and just art and words of people contained in dark old as shit corners or tumblr.
