No, like... I'm being so for real right now. I've been thinking about it for a few days.
90's LawRusso/Daniel and Johnny only exist in the LawRusso fandom. Whoever created it, may your pillow always be cool, you big brain!
So my ass is drawing an already niche part of the fandom - PLUS slapping that AU on it. (Can it be classified as AU? I just say AU because they aren't in any recognizable clothing, and it's taken out of context)
Which makes me feel like, "Who the hell wants this?" not in a bad, "Dear lord, no one wants this-" way, more like a, "I'm taking characters out of their element and using a fan-made creation PLUS slapping them in random situations." kind of way.
So me thinking, "Who wants this-" Is more of a, " Is this really.....fandom work at this point?"
BUT you can counter-argue that other people do this all the time- drawing them in AUs (like cowboys, or mermaids, etc..)
I think what makes me feel so apart from those other artists is, well, I suppose it's the nature of the drawing. I never know if I even convey them in a way that still makes them FEEL like them. Like, if you look at the piece, do you think, "Ah, LawRusso!" or is it more like, "Oh, two dudes"
That is my dilemma at times when I do such random shit. (Oh, don't get me wrong, I love the Slave 4 u / Dirrty concept. Drawing booty cheeks out for Johnny in assless chaps was so much fun, plus giving Daniel a belly piercing was also really fun)
TL;DR: Do I capture their essence when I draw spicy fan art- or nah?
