“There’s moonlight in her eyes and stars that rest upon her lips. Constellations fall for her after the sunlight dips. Enveloped in inky waves she sings a lullaby, that drifts across the misty air and wakes the morning sky.”
— Ellis Nightingale
“Stop asking people’s clothing to have sex with you, and start asking people.”
— Anna Binkovitz, “Asking For It”
The best lies about me are the ones I told.

One day, all the love you’ve given away will find it’s way back to you, and it will finally stay.

It takes courage to grow up and become who you really are.
E.E. Cummings (via goodreadss)
you don’t stop loving someone just because you don’t talk to each other anymore. you don’t start hating someone just because things got tough or wasn’t all sunshine and butterflies the whole time. sometimes things work out, sometimes they don’t, sometimes shit just happens, and that’s okay. love is really, fucking complicated guys. but go with it when you find it anyways. you might get lucky or you might not, but either way you can say you tried and learned. and that’s important too.

I imagine what it must be like to stay hidden, disappear into the dusky nothing and stay still in the night. It’s not sadness, though it may sound like it. I’m thinking about people and trees and how I wish I could be silent more, be more tree than anything else, less clumsy and loud, less crow, more cool white pine, and how it’s hard not to always want something else, not just to let the savage grass grow.

We waste time looking for the perfect lover, instead of creating the perfect love.
Tom Robbins, Still Life With Woodpecker (via wordsnquotes)
And when my mother asks me what’s wrong I just say I’m tired because I don’t have the heart to tell the woman who gave me life that I don’t want it anymore.

You date a boy and afterwards, I watch you turn him into a city. You say, this is the road where his car went over the guardrail and he walked away without a scratch and took three whole days to call you. You say, this is the road where you threw my flowers out to make room for him in the passenger seat. You say, this is the road between his house and our apartment. This is the restaurant you used to frequent with him, which is also where you took me for our first dinner date. This is the used condom we found stuck between the wall and my side of the bed. These are the sheets you still hadn’t changed by the time I moved in. This is someone else’s bed and I am laying awake at night in it, folding and unfolding city maps, wondering if there’s a casual way to say, “Hey, is your ex-boyfriend Rome? because everything leads back to him.”
ROME by Trista Mateer (via tristamateer)
You either like me or you don’t. It took me twenty-something years to learn how to love myself, I don’t have that kinda time to convince somebody else.
Daniel Franzese (via quotemadness)
Once upon a time there was a boy who loved a girl, and her laughter was a question he wanted to spend his whole life answering.
