Hi. i'm poetry-burner

Account name speaks for itself. I'll be throwing poetry into the void that is tumblr. if i see any success it's a miracle.

my main inspos for my everything are my friends, earl sweatshirt's music, mark rothko's works and the world around me as i perceive it.

a few ground rules when interacting with me:

i have no dni list, but i block liberally. namely terfs, maga and other reactionaries

no dono bots. i can't donate. i'm a minor.

i am, as i have specified above. underage. as such i am thoroughly uninterested in any sexual solicitations. thank you

i’m not sure if people on tumblr read poetry, but here is some of mine. i am published in a couple of places and went to school for creative writing, however i don’t typically share on the internet. thought i’d post this one though.

written september 17th of 2025 in my first fall semester at college. hope you enjoy :)

I'm done. Or so she says. I love you. Or so she says. White text on gray. If you do not stop, if you cut, then so too shall I cut ties.

I lived. I was not thriving so much as I was surviving, one step at a time. But I perservered. I was stuck in my ways, more often than not. So I tried to love more than I hated. I didn't wish for that. Unfeeling. The world became darker, so it did. Dark as ink, cruel and callous. So I gave up. I learned, there's no light after the end. I was alone.

Not trying to be negative or anything, just something I noticed and wondered if anyone else agrees. But, does anyone else feel like the fanfic community has kinda of faded throughout the years?

I remember when everyone was super active in it and pushing out fic’s like it was their job. But now that personalized AI has come around I feel like people haven’t really been as reliant on fan fiction to get that kind of self insert experience.

Which makes me kinda sad because it completely strips away the community aspect of sharing fan fiction. Also because using AI for this purpose is such an isolating experience and a huge difference between fan fiction and AI roleplay is that fanfics have an END.

Using generative AI for this and being able to go on as long as you want seems like why so many people are becoming addicted to it.

Anyways those are just some of my thoughts, sorry if it was written/formatted poorly I just wanted to go on a bit of a rant. But anyone from either side of this issue let me know your thoughts please!

I can't feel my eyes, only hear the fading, warm piano Dazed and confused, high off exhaustion and Bad, late-night ideas. The lights are on, they don't flicker Despite the rain outside.

The rain. It never comes out during the day. It's only there at night, spewing itself upon cars and passers-by As I, safe on my couch, learn about abstract cats and Wait for my energy to wane. I'm tired already,

But I don't want to sleep yet. An odd state of being, At an odd time. No-one is awake yet it's technically morning. Witching hour. Mid-night is in the morning.

I suppose it's good afternoon when I wake up then.
