A poem I never finished, it needs a home, even if incomplete.Ā
The box is dusty and full to the brim,
She managed for so long until Annie screamed,Ā
āLet me out, we both know I am in here,ā
it was a truth they both could not ignore.Ā
She and Annie would talk within riddles,
Chinese whispers and morse code.
Annie never wanted to get back inside her filthy box.Ā
āYou made me, now embrace me,ā she said as I slammed the lid down,
a crunching key turned in the lock.Ā
But Annie still whispered,Ā
She talked, yelled, sang and bellowed until the rusted lock and dusty box made no difference.Ā
Annieās words could not be contained,Ā
She could not be herself anymore, not without her.Ā
It was just as Annie had said, whilst braiding my hair,
āItās always me and you, and as long as weāre together, Iāll always be fair.ā
After all, Annie was the only one she could trust,Ā
her riddles made perfect sense,Ā
āA secret language just for the two of us.ā
And so she was no longer alone, she was always with Annie,Ā
Together, never apart, never lonely,Ā
