He knows he’s on the rowdier end of drunk, and he’s sure that he’s nudged someone the wrong way, and besides, his mother raised him right. He’ll apologise when he’s in the wrong. Except, he stops short. The man at his side is gorgeous. He’s got thick dark curls and grey eyes that seem to devour James. And to top it all off, he’s wearing a crop top that shows off a pale waist that James wants to touch, wants to map, wants to memorise. James can’t form words, can barely form thoughts. All that there is is the man next to him. And he’s looking at James like he’s a fucking idiot.

Or, James Potter gets drunk on a night out and falls in love. In that order.

The first thing he notices is the beach view. For what the shitty motel cost, it’s really quite stunning. The sea is rough but welcoming, a deep, dark blue that contrasts with the red flags fluttering in the light breeze. Regulus makes his way over to the window, opening it and feeling the breeze wisp through his hair, so soft it feels like a caress. Hello, it says, are you ready for what comes next?
