This passage paraphrases a journal entry of mine. Being transmasc and feeling nonhuman is inseparable for me. I'm as much of a boy as I am a dog: entirely, impossibly.

I've always interpretted AJ as a psychological canine therian. Feeling/wanting to be a dog fits reallyyyy well with his character and is not just me projecting, I promise :3. His self worth is entirely dependent on how well he can serve his loved ones, he enjoys being a comforting, passive presence, he doesn't believe he'll ever be fully "at home" in his body no matter what changes, etc etc.

May or may not revisit dogboy!AJ, it might be too niche. Arf arf

i'm gonna be honest i don't get why they say everypony instead of everybody in mlp. it's not like the word everybody is human-specific. the ponies have bodies. the word everypony, however, is pony-specific in a world where ponies are not the only people in their society, which means it would be more accurate and inclusive to use everybody instead of everypony. it all makes no sense to me
