Lol I'm 1 point away from 1400 on ou. I friggin point. Anyway my current main team is really solid, there's a few problems but I think I can fix them. Oh and it looks like I'll be even better at doubles. I've been tearing up random doubles multibattles and ffas. On top of that I've been able to collect most of the pokemon I want as shiny 5-6ivs!!! My battling future is bright. I should be able to beat 1500 by the end of the year.

Kabutops Move Set

Kabutops is a surprisingly good Weakness Policy user. His attack stat is good. His speed decent. His defenses kinda lack really. Not so much in physical defense, but the fact that you won’t really be investing anything in it defense is the reason its lacking. Anyways, Kabutops is usually ran as a Swift Swimmer but this set is gonna focus on making use of that wonderful Weakness Policy. 

252 ATK, 252 Spe, 6 Def. In a Jolly nature with Weak Armor ability, holding a Weakness Policy.

Knock Off

Endure plus Weakness Policy equals a powerful Pokemon. Top that off with Weak Armor. Weak Armor reduces a Pokemon’s defense stat by 50% and then increases its speed by 50% when hit by an attack. So you take that super effective hit, live on 1 HP, double your attack and get a nice increase to your speed. Even better if he survives that super effective hit with more than 1 HP. Either way this thing is a threat in singles. A priority move will be the biggest threat to this monster. Thats why I include Aqua Jet in this set. However if priority isn’t an issue for you, you can run the very strong Waterfall instead. Being a Rock type he gets Stone Edge. High power, plus stab, and a a high crit ratio? Don’t mind if I do! Knock Off. I’ve already talked about how much I love Knock Off. If I see a Pokemon can learn that move, 9 times out of 10 I will put Knock Off on it. Its just that great of a move in my opinion. The biggest threats to this set is that it is getting walled by Quagsires and any Steel types. But hey, there has to be a catch somewhere right? ;)

Laddering is going to be tougher from here huh? All of the teams I faced recently were pretty solid. I slowly broke this guy down, he overpredicted and sacrificed which are the usual mistakes that lead to losses. I liked his team though.

I played my 1st out tournament today. I lost against Searic but I knocked 4 of his pokemon out. In other words I had a really close match with a top ranking player. Searic lost in the finals though.

Murkrow Move Set

This little guy right here is such a great Pokemon in double battles. Now this little guy doesn’t seem like much with those low stats. But with his ability Prankster and wide supportive move pool, Murkrow almost feels like a must in doubles. There is so many different ways to run him. 

252 HP, 200 Sp. Def, 56 Def. In a Impish nature with Prankster ability, holding an Eviolite.

Thunder Wave/Toxic

Quash

Taunt

There are just so many moves you can use on him, I can’t even list them all above. Roost is a must. With him recovering HP that makes him even more trouble some for your opponent. He provides so much support. He can paralyze your opponent before they even get to move. You can out Taunt a Taunter. Quash is a great move. It makes the target move last. Having that move on a Prankster Pokemon makes it even better! If you are running slower Pokemon, then Quash will help them out greatly. But his is only the beginning! Murkrow learns Perish Song. So you can run a set With Perish Song and Mean Look. Team him up with a Malamar and use Feather Dance on it. Just doing that, you double Malamars attack stat on turn one. Confide to lower your opponents special attack. You know what, let me throw out another set real quick.

Murkrow can be a good Calm Mind user. I honestly just thought of this set as I was typing this. Thunder Wave all threats and then start setting up. After you got some Calm Minds up then you will be taking special attacks a lot easier and hitting your opponent harder. Snarl just adds to your special bulk by lowering your opponent’s special attack stat every time it hits. Dark Pulse, a strong Dark type move with the chance to flinch. Both are great moves and both get stab. There are just so many ways to run a Murkrow. He is one of my favorite Little Cup Pokemon. And he can play a huge role in any Tier.
