【 Pokémon Fanart / Vaporeon 】
Hi there!
My Torterra loves making new friends, so it's perpetually housing a number of wild pokémon on its back.
Problem is, it's starting to get overgrown, which is great for the wild pokémon, but not so great for Torterra, who is losing chlorophyll in its low-growing plants due to the taller ones blocking out the sun.
Torterra's also getting on in years, and I'm not sure if its knees can carry much more weight. It already struggles to get up sometimes.
I know it would deeply upset Torterra to evict its friends, and I don't want to destroy the homes of innocent pokémon either, but I also don't want Torterra to suffer.
What should I do?
Ahh, this is a classic issue for Torterra with hearts too big for their already massive size. In the wild, Torterra take care of their newly-hatched Turtwig by letting them ride on their backs when they're too young to keep up with the rest of the herd, so it's very common for domestic Torterra to adopt any Pokémon that can nest on its shell.
Thankfully, the answer is pretty simple- you've got to relocate! It can be a bit heartbreaking to consider evicting your Torterra's friends, but the situation sounds pretty dire. Instead of shooing them away, you should build a garden that provides for the Pokémon currently nesting there, and encourage them to move.
If you let Torterra be involved in the process, and see their friends during, it should help with the separation. You can even transplant a few of Torterra's natural flora into the new garden, which will help the Pokémon make the switch! After you've cleared them out, you can get to work taking care of Torterra and helping them get back to full strength. I'd recommend keeping an eye on the number of Pokémon who want to nest on them in the future, though; you don't want to end up in this situation again.
Howdy! Sinnoh trainer who recently recieved my friends Hyrdeigon and Samurott due to my friend having medical issues that have been making it harder for him to keep up with their training. I have a team of Yanmega, Staraptor, Purugly and Garchomp. I've done a lot of research into the two pokemon, but is there any advice on making them feel more welcome? They both seem to get along well with my Staraptor, but I just want some more advice ^-^
Wow, that's... an interesting group of Pokémon, to be sure! You've taken on a lot of responsibility, and you're going to have to make sure you're well-prepared.
It's a great start that they get along with your Staraptor, but I would advise being very slow and careful as you introduce this group to each other. Hydregion in particular are incredibly territorial, and there could easily be a pretty explosive reaction if interacting with your Garchomp goes poorly. Your new friends will also probably be nervous for a while, given that they're seperated from their Trainer.
Make sure you have their Pokéballs on hand at all times, and ensure that all parties involved are totally comfortable with you before you start introducing them to each other. You should also probably do it in an open space, so none of them feel caged in or threatened. Just be extremely cautious, as these are all strong and territorial Pokémon who may be dangerous if upset.

I recently got a Scorbunny and he's been non stop throwing tantrums, he stomps his feet and cries if he doesn't get what he wants sometimes even if I do give in he doesn't stop. I'm not sure what to do, luckily he's just a baby and I can easily clean up the scorch marks he leaves behind but it's bothering my senior Infernape who is rapidly losing patience. I have tried everything but he won't calm down! Am I doing something wrong or is he just bratty?
It's not all that uncommon for young Pokémon to have difficulties in adjusting to their new lives with their new Trainer, so as long as you've been attentive and done your research before taking him in, I doubt you've done anything wrong! Still, tantrums are typically a response to stressful stimuli, and it's very possible that there's something around that's upsetting him.
Does he have enough outdoor space to run in, or are you taking him for long enough walks every day? What about his food and water intake? Is there a Pokémon nearby, either belonging to a neighbor or wild, that could be harassing him and making him feel unsafe? Does he have any injuries you haven't noticed? All of these could be causing his outbursts.
As for your Infernape, it's very normal for this behavior to stress out older Pokémon. Seperating them for a while could help with this, and if you relocate your Scorbunny for a bit- maybe have a friend petsit!- you might be able to find out if the environment is what's stressing him out.
If you do all of these and they turn up nothing, you're probably just going to need to be stricter with your discipline. I know it feels mean, but Pokémon sometimes need a firm hand, and a gentle but stern demeanor can help iron out a lot of obedience issues. Good luck!

((Closin’ the inbox! I’ve got a good 100+ asks in there, so I’ll open it again once I’ve gotten it to a reasonable amount.))
on the way
Hello there I'm a breeder and I recently hatched a beautiful swirlix and when I introduced him to the rest of my team he latched onto my garachomp and they've been best friends ever since. It's a rather strange friendship but adorable never the less.
I was wondering what may have been the reason to this?
Stuff happens, honestly. There are thousands of stories of odd-couple friendships between Pokémon, and it’s not at all unusual for infant Pokémon of all stripes to latch onto older, more powerful teammates. As long as the two don’t hurt each other, there’s no reason to intervene!
any advice for raising a fledgling Murkrow? I found one in my yard recently and he hasn't since tried to leave. I leave food out for him and he plays with bells on my door. Im tempted to take him in, especially since I've seen no signs of other murkrow or honchkrow around.
My neighbours are still superstitious about Murkrow bringing bad luck and want nothing to do with him
Hmm, interesting question. First of all, however, Murkrow are very pleasant to raise, if that’s a path you’re interested in! They’re extremely intelligent, and very playful. It’s great fun to invent games for them, or teach them how to mimic words (although they’re not as talented as Chatot)! They eat primarily insects, so any dried Bug-type supplemented with berries and seeds will do them just fine.
That being said, it’s a little unusual that this guy is apart from his murder. If you do decide to keep him, you should absolutely take him to a Poké Center and get him checked for microchips, and maybe keep an eye on the news to see if anyone’s reported a missing Murkrow. You don’t want to be taking in someone’s partner by mistake.
(As for your neighbors, tell them to go kick rocks. Murkrow aren’t any more or less unlucky than any other Pokémon, and it’s none of their business which Pokémon you decide to take in!)
Just out of curiosity, what's your beef with proshippers? It's not condoning anything irl or whatever, it's just not harassing people for what they ship :0
((My 'beef' with proshippers is that, by and large, the 'let people ship what they want!' thing is, 99% of the time, just a thinly veiled excuse to normalize things like pedophilia and incest, which has serious ramifications in the real world.
Obviously, fiction is not the same thing as reality, but saying that it doesn't impact it is not only stupid, it's historically incorrect. Romanticizing and otherwise normalizing things like that has serious impact on rates of abuse in real life. If you've been told that proshippers are just trying to make things 'nicer' for everyone, or what have you, I'm sorry, but you've been lied to, and I'd politely ask you to reconsider standing with people who seem to always coincidentally looove making porn about teenagers.))
((Hey, just a friendly reminder that if you're a proshipper, a TERF, or any of that kinda shit, you're not welcome on this blog. Get out of here.))
I’m going to be at Fan Expo Chicago (July 7th-10th) with @rainphee-art !!! 🎉
We’re gonna be in Artist Alley at table A549!!! (At the top of the incline)
I’m so incredibly hyped for this event!! I’m going to be selling all new print and merch designs based on the comic me and Phee are collaborating on!!
We’re still in the early stages of pre production but it’s something I can definitely see picking up steam around this time next year! ❤️
I know OC content is a bit more hit or miss on sites like this so any support you can give would be insanely appreciated!!
Also, keep an eye out as after this event I’m going to be looking into reopening my Etsy with the remaining fanart merch from MCM London!! Sorry for the delays on reopening!!
((Hey, here's an explanation for my absence! I'll be tabling with my close friend, Rou, and if you're in the area I'd love to see some of you there, and I'd be happy to answer a few questions in person, if anybody's interested!
And even if you can't show up, spreading the word is mega appreciated!))
been thinking about the shape of this beast
