Uhh, hi. This is mod (@type-blaze0) fishing for dopamine so they're capable of progressing their fan project. Please interact.

Pokemon solar and hydro are collectively referred to as the trika region.

I am more a game designer than a game developer, so as much as I want this to be appliable project, HA!

Anyway, organizational stuff:

Hidden: motor drive

Solar: it wanders the beaches seemingly endlessly, it has a soft spot for plants

Hydro: legends say that it avoids the water because its body is made of the bones of sunken ships

Alternate form: plundergust

Held item: queen anne's crown

Ability: water bubble

Cyclizar (trikan)

Type: dragon/ground

Abilities: traction (new ability), regenerator

Hydro: the people of this region have selectively bred Cyclizar to be able to travel farther across rough terrain

Solar: although it is larger than paldaen Cyclizar, it is much lighter and more nimble.

With so much variety among the different typings it’s a bit hard to choose, but I would probably say Dragon-type. They’re such impressive Pokémon. I’d love to own one someday, but man, they’re incredibly high maintenance. There’s a reason you typically only see them owned by professional Trainers.

Speaking of Dragon-types, did you know that Cyclizar is the only Dragon we’ve domesticated? They’ve been aiding us for thousands of years. For this reason they are typically mild and docile Pokémon, and perhaps the only Dragon-type that’s considered a good pet.

I understand that there are still wild altaria, but the same is true for cyclzar, isn't it?

Are you not counting them because swablu aren't dragons until they evolve?

The Cyclizar in the wild are feral, but they’re not true wild Pokémon. Kind of like seeing Eevee or Skitty or Lillipup in the wild. They’re feral populations.

Swablu do actually make good pets, but yeah, I didn’t include them because they’re not a Dragon-type, they’re Normal/Flying. Normal-types are already known for being great pets, and while Altaria aren’t the most difficult Dragon-type to own, they’re still high maintenance and can be difficult.

Applin aren’t particularly difficult, but they become more high maintenance when they evolve and therefore aren’t really ideal as a pet.

Note that when I say pet, I mean a Pokémon that isn’t being used for battle, at least not often. Dragon-types tend to be fairly high energy, so it’s difficult to keep one purely for companionship. Then you have the behavioral side of things, like territorial aggression and prey drive. In the case of Cyclizar, these behaviors have been mostly bred out, but that’s not the case for other species.

I mean, of course dragon types will have a lot of energy, but working pokemon do count as domesticated, don't they? In the case of hopscotch (my appleton) Most of his energy is for pulling the cart around the orchard and spamming apple acid for use in baking.

I know that maybe he isn't the best example, being probably one of the laziest dragon types, but frankly, we have the most trouble with hotspot (torkoal), who isn't a particularly high energy species either.

I can understand how flapple could be a tricky evolution though

on the topic of sweet mon… is it ethical to eat a daschbun? what do they taste like?

i think any pokemon is ethical to eat as long as it's raised and slaughtered humanely and isn't an endangered or threatened species.

i've never tried dachsbun myself, mostly because evolved pokemon tend to be harder to come by for food. pokemon that have battled a lot also aren't really all that great to eat because they get tough, so you'd really want to eat a dachsbun that's been raised on experience candies rather than battling...which makes them even more expensive. i've heard that they're incredible when baked, because they develop a good crust on the outside but remain tender on the inside. their slightly sweet flavor is said to pair well with tart fruit-based sauces.

i'd like to try one someday, but i doubt it's going to happen unless i accompany my dad on one of his ridiculous business dinners.

You are likely thinking of dashbun ears, which is a kind of bread made from the yeast it exhales. It is an incredibly misleading name.

Beneath its flaky and croissant-like fur, it is actually made of meat, similar to most canine Pokémon.

While meat is, of course, edible, the only part of dashbun actually made bread is its fur.

If you would like to try some dashbun, it is currently shedding season here...

I could also send you some dashbun's ears and appleton syrup, if you would prefer.

if u used a move too strong for a pokemon, they get this slight dizzy recoiled from finishing the move! (or maybe its just heliolisk, but a fun detail still)

I cannot express how happy I am that your party contains four heliolisks.

They're implied to all be named and holding an item too, Which makes me even happier.

At this point, I've got one heliolisk for every sizes! XS, S, M, L and alpha XL! They're all named and have different items and moves 😆

I've never gotten a chance to actually use one in a full playthrough, Since I started in galar and they weren't available until halfway through the game (i was introduced to pokemon by Go and the xy anime)

The stylistic choices of parabolic and dragontail in the show is probably why I love it so much lol.

If that normal type was anything else, i could actually see it being meta viable. With every passing generation i wish more and more that it was part dragon or ground.

Anyway, I'm slowly designing a fakemon region, and decided to give it an evolution with forecast lol. Would you like me to name an NPC after you? (No offense, but preferably something other than 1102) (Sorry, I'm very excited to see someone who loves this stupid lizard as much as I do)

I actually only learn about heliolisk from THIS game! I did finished XY but wasn't able to fully enjoys it at the time due to uni.

Legend ZA actually got me absolutely adore these silly lizards because of how they were animated! they wiggle their tail a little before every moves and sometimes open their frill for some moves.

Being normal types mean they can learn at least one of every types moves. Which was rlly fun post-game, its why i have so many of them too :] An electric pokemon using surf is really fun!
