Pokémon Expert (OOC About Post)
This blog is dedicated to all things Pokémon. If it's not Pokémon related, you won't find it here. You can find anything from research notes to lore and headcanons. The author of this blog is also an artist, so there will be occasional pictures, and sometimes original Pokémon coming up. Here is some basic information about the blog:
There will be posts about our movies and media in the Pokémon world.
The in-character person here is Aspen Flamel. You can learn more about her in another post. (Like Sonia, she is a Pokémon professor who goes by her first name. Sonia, I believe, does it to differentiate herself from her grandmother, Aspen does it because her first name is a tree name and gains her more respect as a professor.)
All titles and tags are out-of-character
If there is a portion of out-of-character text in a post, the words will be written ((like this, in double parentheses))
Aspen runs a podcast where she talks about all things Pokémon, and she has people guest star on her show, so you will see familiar faces and unfamiliar faces of original characters here.
I'd love to feature some other people's Pokémon Expert characters here, so it'd be nice to make some friends with other researchers here.
If an entire post is out-of-character, the ooc tag is snorlaxing.
There are some things to note about this Pokémon universe, and we will go over that here.
Legendary Pokémon are gods. They are highly respected, but sightings of them are incredibly rare. While most people know they exist, some still don't believe. Capture is impossible as Poké Balls don't work on them, and it would be illegal even if they did.
Arceus is not the creator of the Pokémon World. He is the creator of the Sinnoh Region. Many regions have their own religions, cultures, and creation stories. Arceus's power and influence outside of Sinnoh is actually quite weak.
Like in the games, people are afraid of wild Pokémon. It is uncommon to see anyone traveling on-foot between cities without a Pokémon with them. As such, it's safe to assume that most people you pass on your travels are Pokémon Trainers. "Hey! Wait! Don't go out! It's unsafe! Wild Pokémon live in tall grass! You need your own Pokémon for your protection."
Breeding works differently in this world than in the games or anime. Pokémon mate and reproduce in various ways, and we will talk more about that in future posts.
Education is seen differently in the Pokémon World. This is also something that will be discussed in a future post, but a quick note here. The only years "traditional" education is required in most regions is from 4-10. This is when children will learn the most basic skills such as reading, writing, math, and social skills.
There are some changes to the Pokédex, and that will come up in future blogs, too.
