When I tagged this post with “this is canon,” I was not lying/exaggerating. Also, I love Ash’s face throughout the whole bit where Rudi starts hitting on Misty, like

And the best part is that you can’t even brush this off with “well Rudi is the Gym Leader and Ash wanted attention” because this is before they learned that Rudi was the Gym Leader. Ash was that aggravated because Rudi started flirting/dancing with Misty. At this point in the episode, the annoyance he shows here is undeniably because of the flirting, and it’s hilarious.

The other differences between the original design to the movie design is:

- Hat Symbol - Pockets - Shirt/Jacket Button

Aside that, it’s really nice to see Ash in his original outfit. All of us 90s kids grew up with him in this look. Also really glad they’re not doing his Sun & Moon anime look for the 20th movie, all of us would be hating it.

I hope to expect the old gang again. It’s been awhile since we’ve seen Misty and Brock. Same thing with Gary and Tracey.

For some reason, I am expecting to see Mewtwo in this movie. If you recall back in the original series, the 1st movie is connected to the anime.
